Greetings!
I hope our seasonal newsletter finds you well, and better yet planning or preparing for a vacation. Not all of us can get away, but hopefully the temperamental New England weather will at least grace us with plenty of beach and barbecue days.
Unfortunately, whether on vacation, at the beach or the backyard, there are many opportunities to neglect proper posture and mechanics resulting in spinal pain ruining the good times. No one wants to worry about that!
In this issue we focus on tips to avoid common spinal pitfalls in these settings, and healthy ways to prepare your body for the changing season.
So read on and enjoy your summer or vacation pain free!
 Yours in Health!

| Beach (or Barbecue) Back Basics! |
Enjoy the beach pain free
There is nothing like basking in the sun on a hot summer day to the serenade of gentle waves as they rhythmically cool your feet. The pleasure can quickly dissipate as you try to get up after hours on a flimsy beach chair and you suddenly find your self with back or neck pain.
Those not going to the beach are not immune, since most yard furniture and chairs are not exactly "ergonomic" (designed to work with the body and prevent injury).
You can avoid the neck and back stiffness by following these simple rules:

| Healthy Weight Loss |
Get your body beach ready safely
We all become a little body conscious as time nears to put on a bathing suit. Most of us have gained a pound or two over the winter and would like to slim down a bit before the beach.
With so many fad diets, magic pills and potions or bizarre workouts that promise fast weight loss it can be confusing to know what is effective, what is a waste of time, or down right dangerous.
We try to take some of the confusion out of the process and offer you a variety of safe and effective methods that will suit your individual but hopefully realistic goals.

| Super nutrient! |
|
Everyone needs it
Realistically there is not one nutrient or food that will serve all your body's needs. That is why it is important to have a varied and balanced diet.
There is however one nutrient that almost all of us have become deficient of due to our industrialized diet.
The following explains how it works, what form is best, how to take it and store it. Even if you think you might know what is is read on because you might not know some important detail. Frequently these details make all the difference.
