If you can't purchase a ticket in advance, please call the library and reserve a seat. Don't miss this very popular event, hosted by the Friends of the Library.

The Help; Cowboys & Aliens; The Ides of March; Moneyball; and Midnight in Paris are just a few of the new titles. You won't see these on our shelves for quite some time due to popular demand. Reserve your copy by using the "Request " feature in our catalog or call, or visit the library, and ask us to place the request for you. |

Between the Covers

The Wolf Gift by Anne Rice - After a brief lapse from the realms of darkness, Anne Rice has once again returned to the underworld and its inhabitants. Famous for her vampire series, The Vampire Chronicles, which were turned into a popular movie, she began setting her sights on the light at the end of the tunnel and turned her writing towards the life of Jesus. Now we find the author climbing back into the realm of evil and her latest novel finds a young reporter sent to cover a story, bitten and turned. He is caught between his new powers of being able to do good in the world and the bestial savagery that occupy him. Now on a quest to find out why this power has been granted to him, he searches his soul to understand who he is becoming and why while being pursued by the police, media and scientists as well as others like him who are watching from the darkness.
Sonoma Rose by Jennifer Chiaverini - the next installment of An Elm Creek Quilts Novel finds Rosa, a mother of 8children, fleeing her volatile husband in Southern California to the mesa where she last saw her mother alive. Eventually ending up in San Francisco with new identities and work at a vineyard, Rosa must hide from the police who want her for questioning, her vengeful husband and the gangsters who are wanted by officers more corrupt then they themselves. Set during the Prohibition era, it is a story of love, sacrifice and ambition.
Private Games by James Patterson - The 2012 Summer Olympics in London is the setting for the newest thriller featuring the investigative firm Private. One of the senior committee members for the Olympics is found dead just before the opening ceremony. A newspaper reporter receives a note from the killer announcing that he intends to restore the games to their ancient glory and murder those that have in his eyes ruined the games. The firm Private is hired to find and take the madman out before the 2012 games are stopped.
I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella - Poppy Wyatt is getting ready for her big wedding when a fire drill in the hotel she is staying in results in her losing engagement ring and to add to her problems her cell phone is stolen. Eyeing one in a trash basket she assumes it is hers and takes it, leaving a message with the hotel to call her when they find her ring. However the real owner of the phone is a local businessman and doesn't like the idea of Poppy reading his messages. A funny and fast story of Poppy trying to make her wedding plans, hide her ring less hand from her finance and all the while creating havoc for the original phone owner.
