Between the Covers

As visions of sugarplums dance through our heads and all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season makes us feel overwhelmed, why not stop for a few short minutes to revisit Christmas past. In the publishing world, not many authors release new material during the month of December, but with all the holiday books that are available we still have plenty of reading material to choose from. Of course there are the classics such as A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens; A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote, and The Birds' Christmas Carol by Kate Douglas Wiggin. But some of out popular witers of today have also penned some very deserving holiday reads. The are many, too many to list, but these few favorites come to mind: A Redbird Christmas by Fannie Flagg, Skipping Christmas by John Grisham, The Shepherd, the Angel and Walter the Christmas Miracle Dog by Dave Barry, Paper Angels by Jimmy Wayne and The Christmas Wedding by James Patterson, along with books by Anne Perry, Debbie Macomber, Glenn Beck, Wally Lamb, Mary Higgins Clark, Nora Roberts, Jan Karon, Richard Paul Evans, and Kate Jacobs. Of course if you don't have time to sit and read remember that many printed books are now available on CD or in downlaodable audio format, so you can listen while you wrap.
Here's hoping that your holidays are filled with warmth and happiness, with all the best for the New Year.
