September   is
  National Library Card Month

Present your library card at checkout and receive a gift!

Smart Card

Most of us know most of you by name and we like it that way, but we are busier than ever and we need your help! When you present your card at checkout we make fewer mistakes. Our system contains the names of all the library card holders in the Mid Hudson Library System and it is easy to type one letter wrong and check the book out to the wrong person. To encourage the use of library cards everyone who uses a card during the month of September will receive a small gift. In addition,
during the month of September, there will be no replacement charges for lost cards, and larger cards may be traded in for the new keychain version.

  1870 Pounds of Books!
Friends and ice cream!

Coxsackie loves to read. This summer children, adults and teens read more than 1,870 pounds of books. This was more than double the 925 pounds read in 2009. An ice cream sundae party was held on August 11th to celebrate! The ice cream and toppings were donated by Stewarts. The Friends provided the pizza for the separate Teen Party.

Have You Heard About the Mid-Hudson Library System's Kids' Catalog?

Want to find the perfect book to get your child interested in reading? Looking for more dinosaur books? A graphic novel appropriate for a 9-year old? How about a book to help with that homework assignment on Abe Lincoln?

Kids catalog
We have a fantastic resource for kids and parents to use to find great books, CDs, magazines, DVDs and more--the Kids' Catalog. This award winning catalog helps kids find interesting, age appropriate books and other resources on such topics as animals, sports, crafts, dinosaurs, science experiments, music, nature and much more! The site is targeted for children from pre-school to age 9.  Colorful, intuitive graphics direct children to each of 16 categories where a search leads them to materials from the 66 libraries in the Mid-Hudson Library System.  You can get to the Kids' Catalog online at home, at school or at the library. From our web page you can get to the kids catalog from the main catalog or through the Kid's Port.
