Trigg Officially Appointed As
County Engineer/Director of Transportation

The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is under new leadership now that the Lake County Board has appointed Paula Trigg, P.E. as County Engineer/Director of Transportation.

Trigg replaces long-time Director Marty Buehler. After Buehler's retirement, Lake County conducted a nationwide search to fill this position. Trigg's exemplary qualifications and extensive resume helped her stand above the rest.

Stolman spoke highly of Trigg saying, "This is a new generation of great leadership at the department and I can't think of anyone better to take over LCDOT than Paula Trigg. We are thrilled to have her on our management team."

In her time with the Lake County Division of Transportation, Trigg led the development process for the county's $527 million capital improvement plan that includes significant projects such as the Rollins Road grade separation just west of IL 83, and the Fairfield at IL 176 intersection and bike path improvement, that is surrounded by the Lakewood Forest Preserve, as well as numerous other road widening projects with regional impact. In addition she has worked to complete important gaps in regional bike path corridors such as the Prairie Crossing Bike path along Midlothian Road.

Barry Burton, Lake County Administrator explained, "Paula has shown great leadership qualities through her work on significant regional transportation programs during her time with Lake County. I look forward to working with her as she continues the great tradition of professional management at LCDOT."

Trigg has also coordinated and managed projects and issues with IDOT, the tollway and local governments. This includes significant coordination with 52 municipalities regarding county highway and bike path improvements and the implementation of PASSAGE, as well as coordination with 15 township highway commissioners.

"I'm very excited and I look forward to the opportunity to serve both the board and the citizens of Lake County to provide the best transportation projects and facilities that I possibly can," Trigg said.

At their meeting in August, the Lake County Board appointed Trigg as County Engineer/Director of Transportation. Trigg has successfully completed all of the requirements and certifications necessary to fill this position, making the appointment official.
