Board Approves Wadsworth Road and Delaney Road Improvements 

At its January meeting, the Lake County Board approved two road improvement projects that will help address congestion in northeastern Lake County.
 
The County Board approved a contract for the reconstruction and widening of Delany Road from York House Road to Board ActionWadsworth Road to five lanes. The project, scheduled to begin this year, will bring much-needed capacity to this north-south corridor.
 
Additionally, the Board approved funds for the improvement of Wadsworth Road in downtown Wadsworth, which includes reconstructing and adding a center turn lane to Wadsworth Road, bike friendly paved shoulders, and improving the railroad crossing and sidewalks. As part of an agreement with the Village of Wadsworth, Lake County DOT will do the project, and the Village will maintain the sidewalks in the future. Construction will begin this year.

Lake County Continuum of Care Program Awarded $1.9 Million for Homeless Services
Lake County works with partner agencies to coordinate and provide quality services for homeless people through the Continuum of Care program. This year, the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development awarded nearly $2 million in grants to homeless service agencies in Lake County. This money will directly benefit our most vulnerable residents by providing emergency shelters, rental subsidies, supportive services, and other tools to facilitate the coordination of service to homeless persons. Voting by Mail Application Available for All Lake County Registered Voters
All Lake County registered voters who prefer to vote by mail in the March primary may visit LakeVoterPower.info and vote by mail jan 2012complete the "Application for Ballot." Illinois law requires voters in each election to complete an application and return it to the Clerk's office before a ballot can be mailed. Ballots for the March 2012 primary will be mailed beginning Feb. 9, pending final ballot certification from the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Adopt-A-Highway
