Lake County PASSAGE Launches Android Application

Those that have an Android mobile device can now access real-time Lake County traffic information through the new Lake County PASSAGE app. Lake County launched the I-Phone app earlier this year, and just released the new Android app. Both apps allow users to report incidents directly to PASSAGE and submit pictures, location, and description. It also has the ability for the device to

detect the individual's current location.

Whether using one of these apps, or visiting www.lakecountypassage.com from a computer, users can obtain live, local congestion information, view a map of road conditions and events (with crashes, stalls, debris, and other roadway incidents), and view camera images of major intersections.

Lake County PASSAGE also has an email notification program where users can sign up for traffic alerts for designated roadways. It's simple: register at www.lakecountypassage.com; create a custom profile; and receive emails when your drive is affected by weather, congestion, equipment malfunctions, or other conditions.

"PASSAGE is free technology that provides Lake County drivers with information that can truly change their lives. Knowing areas to avoid because of an accident or other incident can save time, avoid traffic headaches, and help the environment by producing fewer emissions," Chairman David Stolman said. "I encourage everyone to sign up today!"

You can also follow Lake County PASSAGE on Twitter @LCPASSAGE and get real-time traffic tweets.
