Hilo Habitat ReStore Grand Opening, Sat. Nov. 14, 9-1

700 Manono Street   Hilo Habitat for Humanity is kicking off a 20th anniversary celebration with a grand opening at its new ReStore warehouse, Saturday, November 14, from 9-1. The 1600 square foot warehouse is at 700 Manono Street, one block mauka of Big Island Candies.
The ReStore offers new, leftover, and gently used building materials, appliances, furniture, home goods, and plants, all at 50-90% off of retail price. All proceeds are used toward building affordable homes in East Hawaii. The grand opening heralds the start of Saturday hours for the ReStore, which will be 8-5 each Saturday. The store is also open weekdays from 9-5. The grand opening, from 9-1, will include music, a ceremonial lei cutting, an appearance by actor, martial artist, and environmentalist Jason Scott Lee, as well as a representative from Mayor Billy Kenoi's office. Lee was interested in participating because he wants to support the recycling and landfill waste diversion that the ReStore promotes each day. There will also be free hot dogs and drinks.
Former president Stacy Hargrove, who died unexpectedly while in office, will also be honored with a display for vintage, restored or unique items.
Grand opening attendees are encouraged to bring new, leftover and gently used donations to the ReStore during the grand opening. Volunteers and staff will be on hand in a special receiving area to accept donations and provide tax-deductible receipts. Extra volunteers will also be on hand for attendees who wish to shop for bargains.
For more information, please call the ReStore at 935-6677 or polly@hilohabitat.org.

Thanks so much and see you there!
