Rod Goodrich is an artist and model-maker from Watervliet , MI . He has designed and created the sculpture you see here titled
"Eartha a.k.a. Mother Earth".
The
9ft tall, 800 lb Fossilcrete sculpture is currently on display at Devos
Place in downtown Grand Rapids . Rod is among 1200 other artist from 26
countries competing in the world's largest art competition ever. The
competitions winners will be decided by public vote with a grand total
of nearly a half a million dollars awarded to the top ten vote
getters. The Art prize event will run from Sept 23 - Oct 10. If you are able and interested in attending go to ArtPrize.org

How to Vote in the Grand Rapids ArtPrize Competition:
There
are 13 sites within the designated three-square-mile area of downtown
Grand Rapids where people can register to vote for their favorite work
of art. After registering, votes may be cast through a mobile device or
the Internet. To read more visit www.artprize. org.
The competition is being held in downtown Grand Rapids for two weeks with 1st round of public voting beginning Wednesday Sept. 23 through Sept. 31st .
Final top ten voting will be held Oct 1 thru Oct 8th.
