Still To Do...

Once the flatwork is complete we will install an outdoor kitchen featuring a pizza oven from Chicago Brick Oven; and we will begin applying vertical concrete to the face of the building.  For those of you who missed the first opportunity to go vertical, here's your chance!

The seemingly impossible has happened...nice weather is FINALLY here!  It is time to tackle all of those outdoor endeavors we know you have been waiting all winter for.  Business has definitely picked up for us; between people renting equipment for their lawn care and construction projects, and others, or the same people, needing supplies for their decorative concrete jobs we have been on our toes.  Miraculously though, we have found time to finish most of the sections of floor, bring some order back to the showroom, and get some sections of the front concrete poured, colored, and stamped.

A Sense of Direction
compass Our most currently finished floor was topped with Sgraffino to begin.  We then dyed the area with forest green water-based dye.  Next, the design was cut into the concrete.  The center circle was colored using sunrise yellow water-based dye and the rest of the design was colored using metallic pigmented epoxies in pearl, galaxy blue, and copper.   Once everything was dry we put an epoxy primer-sealer on to protect the surface until we are ready to coat the entire floor in epoxy.
Life's A Beach
beach and product On either side of what will represent water once it is finished, there are sgraffino beaches.  This look was achieved using two colors of colorfast.

A Magic Carpet
modello stencil The solution to vacuuming!  Why use an area rug when all you really need is a concrete floor, a stencil, and some dye?  This floor was first topped with sgraffino.  It was the acid stained, and when the stain was dry the sencil was applied.  Once the stencil was down, it areas not covered by the stencil were dyed, then the stencil was removed and  ta-daa...a "rug" you can mop!

There's No Nails
front wood plank We have been taking any opportunity we have been given to get the concrete out front poured.  So far we have four patterns done, including the cedar plank you see here.  Someone could have a "wooden" porch and never have to pound in a single nail, or sand it, or worry about termites!
Thanks to all who have stopped in and given a hand with the stamping, we hope your experience helped you as well.  If anyone else would enjoy some hands-on training with stamping, please contact us and we will notify you of our next pour.
