The Rental Branch

With Spring rapidly approaching, we are almost ready to wrap-up the indoor vertical concrete for the season.  For those of you that missed it this year and want to get some hands on training, we will finish what is left next winter; or stop in and get some priceless one-on-one training time at a minimum cost.

Over the next couple of weeks we will work our way over the floor and will be finished around the time the weather shapes up enough to begin working outside.  Once under way,  hopefully we will  spark some interest as people are driving by wondering "What the heck are they doing there!?"

Stone Rainbow

Our arches and columns have color on them now.  The unique colors are achieved by layering and combining various colors, and is easily applied using a spray bottle.  Additional effects are created using sea sponges, peat moss, and rags.

A New "Old" Wall
new
Most try to make old walls look new but we decided to go the opposite way with one of the walls at The Rental Branch.  By creating the brick out of concrete first, then plastering around it using Indiana Limestone plaster we made the plaster look as if it is crumbling off the wall to expose the brick it was applied over.  There are even a couple of cracks in the plaster for authenticity!

100% Rental Branch
carved entrance arches
The arches and planters at the entrance of The Rental Branch were our first project since Nathan Giffin from Vertical Artisans has left us to mud, carve, and color on our own.  These were completely done by Rental Branch staff!  (Nathan-hope we have made you proud!)

Bring in Some Wood
fireplace-finished mantle
The fireplace is coming along. We finished the texture & design and are ready for color. We used Vertifaux vertical carving mix with a slate texture on the actual fireplace and the boxes.  The mantle and the counters are completely finished, sealer and all.

Medal-Worthy Metallic Epoxy
metallic epoxy floor
Using 100% epoxy and metallic pigment, we have finally out-done ourselves with this floor!  Thanks are in order to Troy and Vic from CDC for their help and creativity.  We are looking forward to seeing the reactions people have when they see this work of art...it is Awesome!

Those Stones Were Heavy!
T1000 stone floor
This floor is a stamped overlay using Butterfield T1000 Stampable Overlay mix.  We stamped the texture with Roman Slate skins, and stained with Brickform Acid Stain. Once the joints are grouted we will apply another coat of sealer and this floor is finished, without heavy lifting!
