Greetings!
"We hope this finds you well and staying
warm! We are all looking forward to spring with longer days and warmer
temperatures.
The members of the BCA Board have been working on several upcoming events that
are listed below. We hope to see you at the Educational Forum planned for March
28. There are some changes to the event this year: a poster session and a panel
discussion have been added.
Our annual Survivorship Celebration will be held on April 18. This is such a
special event for the BCA and so unique in our community. It gives us a chance
to see old friends, celebrate life and applaud those in our community who are
working in the field of breast cancer.
As with all events and programs, we could not do it without your help.
Please consider volunteering for one of our committees such as Advocacy,
Fundraising, Membership, Community Outreach and Events. Contact us at info @bcacincy.org to learn more.

Study says pregnancy doesn't
worsen breast cancer

Pregnant women who develop
breast cancer do not have worse odds of death or of cancer returning than other
young breast cancer patients, a new study has found. The study is one of the
largest to look at whether breast cancer hits pregnant and recently pregnant
women harder than other women. It contradicts some smaller, earlier studies
that suggested maternity made things worse. "If we can get them early, we
can treat them aggressively and have good and promising outcomes for both woman
and child," said the study's lead author, Dr. Beth Beadle of the
University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
