Dear Parents,

 

It is Walden's custom to recognize the achievements of our students publically at the end of each school year.

Award Descriptions:

Achievement Awards are given to students who have maintained the highest grade-point average for the entire school year in each section of each subject.

 

Merit Awards are given to students who make a significant contribution to the class (with either high GPAs, strong effort, positive attitude, and/or particular interest, etc).

 

The Scholar Athlete Award is given to the student with the highest GPA in his/her grade in middle school, or highest GPA over-all for high school, and who has participated on at least two sports teams during the school year.

 

The President's Award for Educational Excellence goes to students achieving between a 3.5 and 4.0 GPA (or comparable depending on the divison) and have attained a high score on the standardized achievement test.

 

The President's Award for Outstanding Educational Achievement recognizes students in the 8th grade who show outstanding educational growth and achievement over the middle school years.
