Dear Readers,
Welcome to our Christmas issue and what a busy one it is. Firstly, I would like to thank all of our customers and fans who came and said hello to us on our stand at Cake International Exhibition 2011. We had a great time there and will definitely be returning next year, with a much bigger stand!
This month I am also reviewing the great cupcake class I attended recently, read on for more details. We have definitely gone for a bright and bold Christmas theme at Cake Craft World this year. Our motto is 'Christmas doesn't just have to be red and green'! My neon bright cupcakes were a hit in Birmingham and I really hope you like them too, along with our very own exclusive Christmas cutters. Another great first from us is the launch of Little Venice Cake Company range of equipment. We are the recommended supplier of this by LVCC with a link from their website directly to ours. Mich Turner and her team, together with Cake Craft World have also collaborated to bring you Silver Spoon Ready to Roll Icing and Marzipan. Our website is the only place to buy this product other than in your high street supermarkets and we are very proud of this partnership. Mich joined us on our stand at Cake International to promote these great products and to sign her new book, Cake Masterclass. She really did cause quite a stir and at one point our stand was about 6 deep with people waiting to get a glimpse!
Christmas is very fast approaching so we have an array of special offers this month to help you get ahead of the game so you can relax later on in the great build up. Some fantastic pictures have been sent in to me over the last month and I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to email them. I really do appreciate it and I absolutely love looking through them all. Our Very Own Award Winner
Congratulations to Nova Sterling (Nouveaux Cakes) who works at our Bromley Store, on winning a Gold Award at the recent NEC Birmingham Cake International event.
Nova Commented "My winning cake took approximately 60 hours to produce, which was done in between fulfilling my own client's cake orders and working at Cake Craft World. The Brogue shoe I found especially challenging but I was very pleased with the finished product and was continually asked at the show whether it was real, I guess that's testament to a job well done!"

Pretty Witty Madness
On my never ending search for great cake classes, I feel upon a great little business on Facebook called Pretty Witty Cakes. Suzi Witt, owner and teacher of her amazing classes is very new to the business but you would never know it. Based in Crowborough, East Sussex, her attention to detail is astounding and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Suzi. I arrived at her house in the morning and I was wowed by the set up. The classes are run in Suzi's massive kitchen which, even though she says it wasn't, looks as though it was built with cupcake classes in mind! She even has a little shop in her kitchen area and the whole setup is extremely professional.
The class I attended was the Novelty Cupcake class which is for beginners all the way up to advanced students. A kind of 'one class fits all' really. We learnt how to make some beautiful little models to put on the tops of cupcakes and each one was demonstrated and taught with care and attention. I lost myself in a daze of coloured sugarpaste and embossing mats as my imagination started to run wild with colour themes and thinking up clever scenes to put together for my little animals. My favourite little creature must have been the caterpillar and everyone that now sees my finished cupcakes raves over them. Suzi definitely inspired me to think up some new ideas for my own cupcake designs too. She encourages you to go away and use her designs to create spectacular cupcake towers and everyone is in awe of the beautiful finished treasures that she has on display.
This class is full on, no slacking! There is a lot to fit in but very good value for money considering how much you learn. It also included how to use a grass piping tube to create the cutest little patches of grass and I got to try out some of Suzi's fab little moulds and embossing mats too.
I was sent home (after an extremely busy day) with 6 of the most beautifully decorated cupcakes I have probably ever seen. This class is fantastic and I highly recommend it for a great day out, but don't go if you're expecting an easy time because you will have to work hard to get great results.

Mini Gold Star Sprinkles
Sprinkle these tiny edible gold stars over sugar models, cakes, chocolate, desserts and ice cream. For a special occasion, they can even be sprinkled into champagne or a cream liqueur. In the picture below they have been used to decorate our cute little stocking cutter. They come in a tube and they never seem to go down no matter how many I use. I have had my tube for about 6 months and have only used half of them!

Silver Spoon Hits Our Shelves
We are proud to announce that we now stock Silver Spoon products! The finest quality 'ready to roll' marzipan, designed by Mich Turner is absolutely delicious and sold in 500g packs, enough to cover a 6" (15cm) round cake. It really is the best quality marzipan you can buy.
We also stock Madagascan vanilla sugar paste, designed by Mich Turner. This Silver Spoon 'ready to roll' icing is easy to use and not only delivers a smooth finish but tastes gorgeous too. The 1kg pack will cover a 10" (25cm) round cake or a 9" (23cm) square cake.

Bright & Bold Cupcake Tops
You may be wondering how I have achieved such a striking finish to my cupcake tops. Unfortunately, these colours are impossible to achieve by just colouring sugarpaste so I have given them a little helping hand...
2. Choose one of our Sugarflair blossom tint dusting colours (try to match the colour to the cupcake top as closely as you can) and dust over the cupcake top lightly and evenly with a dusting brush.
3. Spray quickly and evenly with edible glaze spray (still a great price at £4.95) to seal in the colour and leave to dry.
For a snowy, pearlescent look to your cupcake tops try this simple technique
1. Choose your coloured sugarpaste and cover your cupcake as normal.
2. Choose one of our lustre sprays, I always use the edible pearl lustre spray and spray lightly and evenly over the whole of your cupcake.
3. Spray an even, light layer of edible glaze spray over the top to set the lustre in its place.

A Twist On Christmas Packaging
Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a little sparkle so try this amazing technique on your little cupcake toppers.
1. Spray your cut out with a light even layer of edible glaze spray.
2. Dredge it with one of our fabulous coloured glitters, tapping off the excess and returning it to the tub.
3. Spray another even light layer of edible glaze spray over the top to bond the glitter to the topper and leave for 10 minutes before handling.
