Dear Readers,
I cannot believe another month has flown past and we are already at the very beginning of spring. I know we are because when I step out of my front door I see the beautiful lilac crocuses (or croaks as my 5 year old calls them) exploding into bloom all over my lawn and it makes me smile.
We have lots of reasons to be smiling in the CakeCraftWorld office due to some great developments this month. Firstly, I am proud to announce that we are now the recommended supplier of cupcake decorations for clients of the famous Delice de France DIY cupcake range (click here for more info). We are over the moon to be in partnership with such a prestigious name in the baking industry.
We have also been chosen to take part in the Ideal Home Show Royal Wedding Cake Competition this year. There is a huge cake competition open to the whole public, which I'm sure many of you will be interested in ( click here for more details) but there is also a competition whereby shortlisted applicants will be judged on their ability to create a spectacular themed Royal Wedding cake and be crowned 'Cake Decorator of the Year'. We are working tirelessly here in the kitchen to come up with something very special. Please come and have a look, click here for more details.
This month welcomes Red Nose Day. I love this event as it's always so funny to see the celebrities making fools of themselves for money! I have created some little red nose treats for you below but click here if you fancy 'doing something funny for money'.
As you can see, a busy time ahead and I'm sure you will all now be thinking of your Easter cakes and wedding cakes for the following year so have fun designing and creating fellow decorators.

| A NEW TWIST ON AN OLD TRADITION | |
Pancake Day
It is Shrove Tuesday on 8th March and if you are bored of the some old round shape, here is a new way to present your battered delights to children and loved ones. Use sprinkles and cupcake decorations to make these pretty flowers that have been cut out using a cookie cutter. To finish, tie with a pretty ribbon. This one was created by my 5 year old! |

| CUPCAKE FLOWER POWER | |
I love this new cutter that has landed in CakeCraftWorld.
It is a double sided cutter specifically designed for decorating cupcakes. The circular scalloped side cuts sugarpaste tops for the cupcakes and the reverse side cuts out a sugarpaste flower. I made the blossom from flower paste and dried it in a former to give it some shape but it could also be used flat on the cupcake. I love the chocolate brown sugarpaste with the light blue cupcake cases too. The centre of the flower is a chocolate drop! |
| CELEBRATE IN STYLE | |

The fantastic shoe cake in our title photo was created with the help of our brand new 3D shoe pan.
The pan is made with a high quality non-stick coating and comes with easy recipes. This pan is ideal for creating small celebration cakes for someone who loves shoes! (If you require more portions, why not set it on top of another cake?!)
Please note this is a small pan and you will only get approximately 6 portions from it and suggest you use a cake mix equivalent to a 5" round. |
