BUTTERFLY
MADNESS!
Butterfly decorations seem to be everywhere this Spring and we have an amazing range for you to choose from. These little beauties above are made from wafers and are simply attached to the side of the cake with royal icing.
Only £4.95 for 24
The secret to creating glittery cupcake wrappers is to spray them with edible lustre spray! I also lightly sprayed the edges of the butterflies too to give them some colour.

Again, these butterflies are made from our fantastic cutter but it is the wired ribbon on this cake that makes it 'special'
This colourful butterfly bag is just what is needed to celebrate a lovely Spring gift. Team it with a hot orange ribbon to give a promise of Summer sun!
This butterfly and flower cutter can be used for cookies, sandwiches and icing or marzipan decorations. At only £1.44, it is surely worth a go!
This cluster of silver filigree butterflies, heart shaped clear gems and flowers have been carefully put together to create this delicate cake top. It comes with a plastic pick so that it can safely be pushed into your cake.
I love love love this perspex butterfly stand, designed to show off comtemporary cakes which are often very simple and elegant. It comes flat packed for easy storage, is easy to assemble and very secure once slotted together. I will definitely find an excuse to use this on a cake very soon!
Nothing comes prettier than glittery butterflies fluttering around the sides of your cake. At only £1.63 per metre, you can't go wrong....
One for the kiddies. If your little ones are anything like mine, they love to get involved. These darling little cupcakes can easily be made by children. Just colour some buttercream, then roll the sides in our SPRING NON PAREILS SUGAR SPRINKLES and pop a little sugar icing butterfly on the top. Perfect!
This is a cake I made for my delightful Niece's 18th and I used all our butterfly products to make it look extra pretty. Butterflies and feathers create such a pretty look.

| Hello Readers,
Welcome to this month's newsletter and what a busy one it is! Firstly, I would like to thank all the readers who emailed me their wonderful comments following last month's launch. So many great ideas and photos were sent in to me and I urge you to continue! I had so many emails from you all and most of the subject boxes said 'Loved Your Newsletter'. It was so uplifting to read them all and I am flabbergasted at how much enthusiasm I seemed to have whipped up. I hope I can keep you entertained as much every month...all 30,000 of you! Lyn Tivers commented 'Hi Louise, had to let you know that I loved your newsletter, its bright & interesting. I have to say that usually when I receive a newsletter I feel compelled to press delete but yours caught my eye and I even felt inspired to attach a photo of a mothers day cake I made last year!'. Thanks for your comment Lynn and I have entered you into our Hall of Fame this month! Anyway, back to business and.....isn't it amazing how the air has changed in a month! Crocuses, snowdrops and even daffodils are everywhere in my garden and the days have been so bright that I even got a chance to photograph the wonderful Easter ribbons outside. Talking of the Easter ribbons, we have such an amazing range in stock this year it really is worth giving them a go. Anything looks pretty when it has a special bow around it!
I have focused quite heavily on chocolate this month as it is the Easter season. I am now on a strict diet after failing to wipe up my spills with a cloth instead of my finger and throwing the leftovers into my mouth rather than the bin...I did have fun though! As promised, we have a special feature on butterflies this month and I have tried to show you all kinds of ideas so that you can give something a try, no matter what your level of ability. For the absolute beginners and children we have some lovely ready made sugar butterflies all the way up to intricate hand made butterflies on cupcakes with wrappers which create the most stunning effect (even if I do say so myself!).
Last but not least, we are in the process of moving this weekend to our new premises. Apologies to you all for the mistake on our first notice but we are blaming BT! Please do come and visit us at our new warehouse if you are passing, we would love to see you. New address and telephone details are at the bottom of the newsletter. I would personally like to give a big cheer to ALL the staff (except me) at CakeCraftWorld for coping under the pressure of the last month, what with orders galore, packing galore and moving. WELL DONE, YOU DID IT! I hope you enjoy this read and please keep your emails and photos coming in, I love them. Just one last thing, Happy Anniversary for March, Pauline Few! Until next month, Happy Baking!

These delightful little brown bunnies are so easy to make and look just like the famous gold ones...but a lot more fun! Simply melt your chocolate (either plain, milk or white) in the microwave for a minute, continually checking it to make sure it doesn't burn, remove and then wait for it to thicken slightly. This should take about 10 minutes and you want your chocolate to be the consistency of, let's say, thick greek yogurt...got the picture?!

This can then be poured into the little bunny moulds and put into the fridge to set for 30 minutes. Decorate as you please, I have used 3mm ribbon, and place into one of our cute little Easter bags for a personal gift for someone special. |
| Now this chocolate Easter basket is much easier to make than it looks and certainly has the WOW factor! It fits perfectly into our Easter Bunny box for the perfect Easter present. Even better, the boxes were £4.65 and now £4.18!

Melt your chocolate (either plain, milk or white) in the microwave for a minute, continually checking it to make sure it doesn't burn, remove and then wait for it to thicken slightly. This should take about 10 minutes and again you want your chocolate to be the consistency of, let's say, lemon curd this time...got the picture?! The basket mould is then 'masked' with a layer of the thick runny chocolate but not poured in this time as we want the basket to be hollow, not solid. Make sure all the sides are covered and then pop into the fridge for 5 minutes. Then take it out and give the sides a second coat of the chocolate. Repeat process for 3 thin layers and then leave to set for 30 mins. Meanwhile, make the handle by rolling out some cocoform. If you have never used this product before then be prepared to be amazed. It is brilliant! If you have ever wondered how Choccywoccydoodah make those fantastic chocolate sculptures, now you know. Roll a strip of cocoform to the length required but double the width and then lay 2 lengths of florist wire on the cocoform and fold over so that it is now double thickness but support in the middle with the wire lengths. Take the basket from the fridge and bend the handle to the required shape to fit and attach to the basket with some melted chocolate to act like glue. Use cling film or similar to support the handle until completely dry. When dry, attach the bottom of the basket to a 3" cake card with some melted chocolate 'glue' and fill the basket with chocolate eggs (I used 3 x 100g bags). Tie this gorgeous ribbon (1 metre altogether is more than enough) to each end to tidy up the joins and pop into the ready made Easter box. Better than Thornton's any day! |
|

I adore this Easter Egg. It's colourful, funny and I challenge you to find anything like it in the shops. Most of all, it's easy to make. Follow the instructions for coating the egg as I did the Easter basket but obviously use the egg mould. When cool, glue with chocolate to a 3" cake card and glue the 2 halves together. Use the delicious (they are, I've eaten hundreds of them!) rainbow chocolate drops to cover the join as I have. I used melted chocolate as the glue and it works very well. Leave to dry for a while and then top the egg with Green Sparkle Gel and then pop the psychedelic chicks on top! To make this Easter Egg even more delicious, fill it with the rainbow chocolate drops before glueing the 2 halves together. |
|

I just love this little lady! She had such a cheeky grin on her face and is very pleased with herself that she has made such a homely nest, laid such a large egg and landed on such a yummy cupcake! These cases are such good quality and come in all different colours. The flowers are ready made and come in packs of 20 for £2.90 and the chick in the nest is only £1.25 for 3. Muffin mix is also available in chocolate. |
|

Well fancy that, since sitting on the cupcake our Mother Hen has laid another egg, they have both hatched and she has moved to a bigger cake! Nothing spells Spring like yellow and green and this cake has both. The Mother and baby chicks decoration is £1.25 and the gorgeous ribbon comes in all sorts of colours and is only 30p a metre. |
|

Now this little fellow has decided to fledge the nest now and has found himself in the cutest bunny cupcake case! These chicks come in all shapes, colours and sizes, have a look on our Easter decorations page for more details. |
|

For a quick fix answer to Easter, attach these cute little piped chicks (pack of 12 for only £3.25) to the side of your cake, attach this gorgeous ribbon (that I use on everything!) and voila, a professional looking cake that took you hours. Only you and I know that's not true... |
|
What's Up Doc? These bunny lollies are so easy to make! Fill the bunny lolly moulds in the same way as the bunnies above. When you put them into the fridge to cool, insert our lolly sticks about 2" into the soft chocolate and leave to set. I have decorated mine with coloured royal icing and tied a pink ribbon around it but you may think of something a bit more funky! |
|
This rabbit looks as if he's escaped from his hutch! Make the chocolate rabbit as I did the Easter basket and Easter egg but obviously with the rabbit mould and join together with melted chocolate 'glue'. There are so many ways to decorate this little bunny but I can't help using this yellow stripey ribbon again! His hutch is a clear acetate box and he fits perfectly into it. |
|
Ribbons, ribbons everywhere! These Easter treats are spectacular. Use them for presents, cupcakes, cakes, packaging or just tie them to a branch and hang our psychedelic chicks next to them like mine at home.

I was out in my garden looking at my crocuses and look who I found! A box of 84 chicks are only £11.06. Perfect for cupcakes, attaching to packaging or even hanging from branches to make an Easter tree.

When you look at the Easter gifts in the shops at the moment, it's all about the packaging. You may not know but we stock everything from classy and pretty to bright and sassy. You name it, we've got it. I have put together some ideas from our collection but you can create your own look with our extensive range of ribbons, bags and boxes. Check out all our offers! Clockwise from left: Brown box, ivory wired ribbon, cream rose. bunny bag, bunny box, bunny wedge, clear acetate box, chocolate eggs, pink cord, gold butterflies, gold Easter egg box, chick ribbon, purple box, yellow ribbon, chick clear bag, chick wired ribbon, bunny bag, floral wired ribbon |

APRIL FOOL
I promised you an April Fool cake but when I learnt that a new Alice in Wonderland film, directed by Tim Burton, was to be released I decided to roll them into one. This cake is my new baby as it took me so long to make! Let me know what you think. I used our full range of glitters, dusts and lustres to create this true fantasy land...
This cake is on display in our Sevenoaks branch if you would like a closer look. | |
