Fun Fact: REGARDS TO MAN IN THE MOON

Louie's spaceship, Imagination l, may be fueled by fantasy, but his journey through the universe is based in fact. To make his illustrations of outer space look as realistic as possible, Ezra consulted a renowned scientist, his best friend Martin Pope.

Fun Fact: LOUIE'S SEARCH

Ezra sometimes used models when he sketched, to give his characters just the right movement or expression. He used himself as a model for Barney, but for a real self-

portrait, look for the truck driver on the last page.

Dear Friends,

As 2011 draws to a close, we're wrapping up our first Keats Film Festival. Each month we brought you a new, four-minute video celebrating a Keats book, along with interesting and often zany items and activities. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun.

You can see all 12 shorts in the Film Festival Archive on our website. Feel free to show any of them at home or in the classroom.

What's next for 2012? We will be launching our new and improved website----revamped, expanded and more interactive than ever before. Look for easier access, more features, and more games and read-aloud books in the months to come. Sometimes bigger is better!

If you have suggestions for videos, curriculum ideas using Keats books or ways to share in the 50th anniversary celebration of The Snowy Day, please contact us!

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. See you in the New Year.

Sincerely,

Deborah Pope
