PET SHOW!
Archie wants to enter his cat in the neighborhood pet show-but the cat's vanished! Though all the ikids search for him, he's nowhere to be found. What will Archie do?
Fun Fact: PET SHOW!
The letters in the title on the original cover for PET SHOW! were drawn by kids who wrote to Ezra about his books. The publisher changed the letters on the cover, but if you look at the first page of the story you'll still see the PET SHOW! as drawn by kids in the early 1970s.

JENNIE'S HAT
Fun Fact: JENNIE'S HAT
Ezra was inspired to make this book by a very tiny picture, the size of a postage stamp, of an old couple feeding the pigeons who then came to rest on their shoulders and arms. As you can see, almost anything can be used to make a wonderful book!
I love this month's Keats Film Festival selection for HI CAT! One of the kids is so excited by the story that he acts out the events in the book. These films are a wonderful way to see how absorbed children are in the books we read to them.
Our newsletters are filling up with exciting items and information. This month we have a link to the CBS-TV segment on the EJK/NYC Dept. of Education Bookmaking Competition, we announce the EJK Book Award winners and the long-awaited launch of the new Minigrant application, and we call for your videos of touching moments of you reading PET SHOW! to your kids.
