A Letter to Amy

FUN FACTS

A LETTER TO AMY:

Look at the back cover of A LETTER TO AMY.  Do you see the names of people scribbled like graffiti on the wall in the picture?  Very few people know this...but those are the names of Ezra's friends and co-workers!

Dear Friends,

Yes, just as Jennie finally welcomed her fancy hat, so spring has finally arrived! The cherry blossoms are in bloom and we are celebrating the 2011 recepients of the EJK Book Awards and EJK/NYC Department of Education Bookmaking Competition Awards!   May is the busiest month of the year here at the EJK Foundation and we are happy to share information about all the festivities.

In addition, "Take Four" is NEW and IMPROVED a MUST SEE, with wonderful and lively clips from the reading of PETER'S CHAIR, don't miss this one.  We look forward to your funny moments reading JENNIE'S HAT with the kids in your life.

Sincerely,

Deborah Pope

Executive Director

JENNIE'S HAT

JENNIE'S HAT cover

As Jennie anxiously anticipates the arrival of a very special hat from her favorite aunt, she imagines, "It'll be big, and flowery, and oh-so very beautiful".  But when she opens the box, it's just a "plain" hat.  Jennie struggles with disappointment, trying to find a better hat, until, through her loyalty to some unusual friends, she receives a most surprising gift.

Fun Fact:  Ezra was inspired to make this book by a very tiny picture, the size of a postage stamp, of an old couple feeding the pigeons who then came to rest on their shoulders and arms.  You can see, almost anything can be used to make a wonderful book!
