Plastic GarbageExperience California with Dive Into Your Imagination!  This summer I am really excited because I am running a ten-year anniversary trip to celebrate the first time I dived in California.  I hope you will join us as we will have our production team aboard, Richard Salas as our Photo Pro and many other surprises!  Water has always been a part of me.  There are stories about me jumping off a diving board at the local park when I was two.  Later, I joined swim team and spent 14

hours a day at the local pool.  My hair has turned green more than a few times through the years because of the chlorine and chemicals in various pools I lived in.  Lake Michigan was my Ocean because I knew no other.  Years later I walked past a sign that said, learn to Scuba Dive.  I walked into the shop and signed up that very day for lessons.  I had stopped swimming as sport but knew I needed to get my soul back to water.  When I put the regulator into my mouth and breathed underwater for the first time my life changed forever.  18 years ago upon my first breaths underwater I knew I would become a scuba diving instructor because I had never experienced freedom.  I stepped into liquid and was awakened to the mysteries of the underwater realm.  After traveling around the world a few times over as a dive instructor, boat captain, underwater cinematographer and writer, I now find myself yearning to dive California and share this with you.   The first time I dived in a kelp forest was ten years ago this summer.  I remember being in 20 feet of water and swimming through the kelp canopy, it felt as if I was a mermaid in a mermaid's lair.  The kelp fronds looked like hair and the forest became a community in my imagination.  It was one of the best experiences of my life and I want to share this with you!  Read More.

Charge! Sea lions are so fun to swim with! The juveniles come out in numbers to play and swim with snorkelers and scuba divers. In the pinniped family, sealions are mammals. Like little kids, they want to play all day long. They will swim right up to you and open their mouths and mimic you by blowing bubbles. Check out the video to learn more!

This week we wanted to showcase our High Definition video, "The Channel Islands: California's Best Kept Secret." The problem with this is that our site doesn't except High Definition video. So what to do? This is where having a knowledge base of all aspects of video can really help. On this years Channel Islands trip you will have the opportunity to learn everything you would need to know about video. I will personally be teaching workshops on video editing, video compression, and uploading video to the internet. So for this video "The Channel Islands: California's Best Kept Secret" I really have two main options to show you this video in High Definition via the internet. Please join Annie Crawley and friends to the Southern Islands August 22-26!   We changed the month because August 23 is Annie's birthday and she wants to be breathing underwater and diving in one of her top ten locations of the world! The trip is four solid days of diving with or (without) cameras.  The southern itinerary we are planning will take us diving in kelp forests, with giant sea bass, in the sea lion rookery of Santa Barbara Island & the coral gardens at Anacapa.
