Celebrate Earth Day, Everyday!
What we think, say and what we do
matters. We tend to follow a routine everyday, whether it is our
morning coffee or exercise routine, favorite television show or
meditation. We all have something that gets our day going and many
times it is the voice that lives within our own head, so we need to get
our inner voice talking a new language. We need to sprinkle our
thoughts with that of our environment in mind and how we can make
everyday Earth Day. We need to think about our environment, talk about
it and get into action in regards to changing our daily habits.
I
remember sitting on the tile floor in the yellow kitchen on Pensacola
Avenue listening to the small am/fm radio out of a child's reach on top
of the refrigerator. My mom would laugh and sing to the tune coming
out of the black box with a three foot antennae, "I'm on top of the
world looking down on creation and the only explanation I can find, Is
the love that I've found ever since you've been around, Your love's put
me at the top of the world!" Oh the memories! My mom still knows how
to give me love. This song from the Carpenter's has been sung in every
country I have visited, every boat I have worked on and every time I am
embarking on a new road in life. It is a song of elation and one that
makes me think of the world we live. I sing these words in faith and
joy of our future as we do hold the world, our earth, our ocean in our
hands. We are sitting on top of the world with satellite radio,
television and inventions we have dreamed into existence. We are
brilliant, yet we need to now strike a
balance with Mother Nature. Our environment has suffered and it is my
pledge to make Earth Day Everyday! Read More

Comb jellies are perhaps some of the coolest looking creatures and look like the underwater aliens from the movie, The Abyss! Although they look like jellyfish, they do not have stinging cells. As a matter of fact, jellyfish and sea turtles suck up ctenophores and eat them! Learn More.

Creating a slide show using your still images in Final Cut Pro can be
fun and give you a very professional look. So lets get started! First,
you need to properly resize your images and make sure your color space
is correct. Full resolution High Definition video has a width of 1080
pixels. So assuming the best device that someone would have to watch
your slide show would be an HDTV, 1080 pixels on the long side should
be plenty. Next, you should make sure your images are in RGB color
space rather than CMYK. The reason for this is that CMYK images tend to
have over saturation problems as well as other issues in Final Cut Pro. Read More! |

Dr. Warner likes to dream and imagine about what the ocean was like when it was completely pristine. He also likes to study hermaphroditic fish! What is a hermaphroditic fish? It's a fish that is both male and female at the same time!
How is hermaphroditism defined and how does it function in fishes? Hermaphroditism means the presence of both male and female function in the same individual. Hermaphroditism occurs naturally in many fish species (most coral reef fish are hermaphrodites!), but there are two different ways to be hermaphroditic. One way is through a sex change. This means that the fish first functions as one sex, then changes to another. The second way is being truly bisexual, meaning that both eggs and sperm are produced at the same time. Read More.
