I arrived safely in Vegas but the only underwater I am going to get a chance to see is possibly "Le Rêve" at the Wynn. The Viz is amazing though in Vegas, because for all the oceans and islands I love to visit, I am a city girl at heart. I am surprised I didn't get into an accident driving and looking at all of the video screens playing everywhere. At the DEMA SHOW this week I will be speaking to High School Students and Teachers about Ocean Education. In doing my research for my presentations and how I inspire people in a desert to understand the importance of studying the Ocean, I thought I would discuss water, after all the Hoover Dam is powering Las Vegas, The City of Lights, right? Nope wrong! All of the electricity from the Hoover Dam is sold to California and Las Vegas power is supplied by coal-fired power stations. Just goes to show me that I don't know what I don't know, yet LOVE learning. Check back often to learn more about our Viz for the week. One of the more advanced tricks in Final Cut Pro is the ability to use the photoshop style composite modes. If you are not familiar with what a dissolve, hard light, or overlay mode is then I hope I can explain.
