Fall, Fabulous Fall
Hi Everyone. Thanks for all of the comments I received last month. It's always nice to get feedback. One faithful reader was kind enough to point out that the new format is difficult to read. If you also feel this way, please drop me an email and I will get you signed up for text only version. Any comments and questions are welcome. info@pamcoronado.com I'm still answering my own mail!
Fall is here! I love this time of year. The kids are back in school, people are back from vacation and the holidays are not yet upon us. The weather is wonderful this time of year in California. Productivity creeps forward. ahhhh The wild ride we've been on for the past few months should be slowing a bit but things will remain unstable until Nov and the elections, obviously. I'm looking forward to our fun workshop in Vegas this month. We may do another one in the next few months since this one sold out so quickly.
For me, Fall also marks the beginning of basketball season. As some of you know, I am very involved in a large city-run basketball program. I've coached and sat on the board of directors for several years. Playing with the kids revives my spirit and renews my faith in humanity. Hearing some young person call me coach is second only to "mom" on the endearment scale. Coaching occupies my mind and provides a much needed respite from the relentless murder mystery and missing children puzzles that run circles in my head.
Let's face it, psychic work and crime solving are mentally exhausting. They don't call remote viewing, mental martial arts, for nothing. As many of my students have discovered, cases are not always easy to shake. My escape into basketball inspired my article on mental relaxation, including the importance of sleep.
My basketball world inspired another article this month. This one in honor of JD. JD was a special young man we lost recently to a rare blood disorder. I'm still reeling from the shock of it but the lesson I learned from JD was about trust. JD taught me the incredible value of people who "have your back" no matter what. As intuitives, oddly enough, we often miss the signals completely about who to trust and who not to trust. I'll address that common problem in the article below.
Last but not least. I've written about my friends in Chambers County, Texas. I have an enormously important case near Galveston, where Ike swept away 40% of the county and damaged the other 60%. The storm couldn't have come at a worse time, case-wise but we can't even address that currently. They need our help and I've got plenty of ideas on how we can pull together to make a difference for them. I'd like to show Chambers County that someone has their back. |

Mental R & R
All mental work is draining, and psychic work, even more so. If you've ever sat through a grueling exam, you know what I'm talking about. Many students who become interested in psychic detective work, quickly fall victim to the Rubiks cube bouncing around inside their heads. We become interested in a case and pretty soon, it's got us by the throat. Not only psychics face this, but detectives too. We chew on it and stew on it and try to tease that missing puzzle piece from somewhere in the depths of our subconscious. Who doesn't love a challenge? The problem is when we can't escape that relentless search.
It's important to take your eye off the ball once in a while and give your mind a break. Here are a few things I have found that work wonders to rejuvenate the mind and relax those synapses.
Keep in mind that what works for me, might not work for everyone because I have ADD. Since my mind is in hyperdrive most of the time, I have to give it a new area of exploration, a new toy to play with. Basketball for example. The game moves quickly, there's plenty of strategy and there's a time limit, perfect for the ADD brain :) Coaching takes my full, undivided attention. No time for restless stewing.
Any activity that requires complete concentration will release you from the constant mind chatter. Martial arts are perfect for this. Learning to dance. Tango anyone? Tai Chi. Creative arts. Music. Getting lost in an entertaining book or movie. All great ways to get some mental rest and relaxation. Meditation and sleep are also vital. Our busy culture has gradually come to underestimate the value of sleep. Sleep allows your subconscious to bring you answers, insights and work through your waking problems. Many people receive intuitive information during dreams because that's the only time their conscious mind isn't arguing..LOL Higher wisdom can sneak in and whisper in your ear when your mind is at rest.
Many people avoid meditation because they believe they can't quiet their mind or "have no thought". Welcome to the club. I'm not so good at the "empty space" either. But I love guided imagery. My mind can take me on a magical trip to restful and beautiful places that only the mind can journey to. |
I've Got Your Back
JD was huge. Only 23 years old but when he entered the room folks paid attention. Our job was to keep peace and order in the gyms and JD always let me know he had my back. "If you feel someone is out of line, then make that call (meaning throw them a technical or throw them out) and I will have your back." Since I'm...uhhh... petite, I always appreciated having JD next to me when things got tense. Of course, I didn't realize just how much until we lost him so unexpectedly.
He used to say those words, whenever I shot him a look that silently said, "help here please". JD never stepped in and took over, he just stood next to me while I regained order. His presence was usually enough to get our point across. (yeah, some of our games get pretty exciting and people can get silly)
The memories of JD's unwavering support got me to contemplate trust. Many intuitive types are duped, time and time again. Seems that wouldn't be a problem, right? Unfortunately, no. I have come to the realization that a two things are usually responsible for this phenomena.
Intuitive types are often givers. They want to please and help others. They usually live under the false assumption that everyone is this way. Time and again, I have seen students and friends shocked when someone has yet again taken advantage of them. Why didn't they see it coming? They want to see the best in people. They want to believe that others are like them and have their best interests at heart.
All of the intuitive warning signals were probably blaring and glaring and urging the sensitive soul to look deeper but they have a strong override button. We all do. When an intuition comes to us that we don't want to hear, we brush it off like a pesky insect. It tugs, we flick. One of my guides is bald. It's no wonder. He probably pulled all of his hair out trying to get me to listen...LOL Sorry John.
Seriously. If you'd like to know if a certain person really has your back, ask your gut. It will tell you the truth if you are brave enough to listen.

Tragedy in Texas
In 1996 I began having dreams about a young blond girl who was being abducted by a pedophile. That series of dreams pulled me down a slippery slope into the world of missing children. I never found the girl or the man who stole her. I did learn a great deal about child predators. That case burned a hole in my heart that I thought might never heal. No matter what I did, it never seemed enough to right that wrong. Then one day, 12 years later I received a call from Chambers County, TX. They asked if I was interested in working on a cold case. The case was from 1996. A young girl, blond, only 13, kidnapped and found murdered under a bridge. Vengeance at last? Hell yes, I was interested! And so the wild ride began.
The case took on a life of it's own, quickly becoming bigger than I had ever imagined. Without jeopardizing the case, I can only say, we were looking at a dangerous guy who has been flying under the radar for a very long time. We got some incredibly lucky breaks and were in position to make a big move when the hurricanes started. We finally had him in our sights and were ready to move forward. Then came Ike. Who knows where our suspect is now. From what I gather his home is no longer standing.
I haven't been able to speak to my detective friend but did receive a short message. "We have 400 still unaccounted for. Our county is too small to handle this mess alone. Searching the rubble is next to impossible in many places."
I have offered to step in and help with the search when the time is right. If you would like to help Chambers County it can be as simple as sending your unwanted items.
