Worth District Deputy and Brother Knights:
I ask that you contact each of your Grand Knights about Fr Brian's challenge which is printed below (also can be found as a link to this email and posted on our website).
Request that they read the letter aloud to their council at the next meeting and give it serious consideration. (An MP3 of Fr Brian reading the letter is posted on the IA KC website) and is linked to this email at the end along with other useful documents.
Then contact myself (email or otherwise) to confirm results. I will be tracking the participation so we know how well we've done at responding to Fr. Brian's passion for life.
You will be receiving this communication via hard copy snail mail in addition to this present emai. We want to be certaint the information got out quickly and in as many ways as possible.
I ask that you remember Fr. Danner in your prayers this coming week. He is away on a silent retreat.
Vivat Jesus,

During this month of October when we extend and emphasize greater attention to the critical need to respect life, in all its forms, I would like to draw our attention to several special efforts underway at this time. To begin, a big word of thanks is extended to each of you for defending life from conception to natural death. Words cannot describe the level and number of sacrifices we have made as a State Knights of Columbus family over the years for the unborn. Numerous examples of KC's providing attention to prenatal care and counseling to parents can be cited, endorsing a pro-life position that goes far beyond simply limiting oneself to opposing abortion. Thank you for your noticeable extensions of God's love to the unborn.
The National March for Life is quickly approaching on January 22-26, 2011 in Washington D.C. As your State Chaplain, I have decided to challenge all councils to consider something that to some may be quite far-fetched, yet very realistic if we join together by putting the proverbial "ax to the grindstone" and setting our minds to the heart of the matter. The goal is for each council in the state to send one representative to January's National Pro-Life March in Washington D.C. in support of our ongoing commitment to the church's pro-life purposes. Registration information and trip materials were recently sent to you. I pray the materials landed in the hands of our state's Grand Knights. Some councils may find this goal requiring them or their designee to miss work, leave his family for a few days, and/or miss a son or daughter's ballgame. Members might consider bringing their spouse and family, a neighbor, friend or colleague with them. As we consider the inconveniences of leaving our families and jobs to brave the winter chill in another part of our country, let us keep our hearts warmed by serving those who have no voice to speak for them. Let us keep our chins up by boldly proclaiming our faith in Christ by resisting the comforts of this world and accepting the crosses in our lives to make life a stronger priority.
Please see your local Grand Knight for more information regarding the pro-life march and join me and our brother Knights for another worthy pro-life cause! The sign up deadline is quickly approaching. I pray you will join me in respecting life in all its forms.
Your Brother in Christ,
Fr. Brian
