Prayer Requests and Praise Reports! | |
Pray for the Lord's word to penetrate the hearts of our beneficiaries, to change their lives from the inside out.
Praise report for LisaMarie,
who is almost done raising funds to be a long term missionary with us. Pray that the rest of her funding will come in and for her as she prepares to go to language school in preparation for coming to Ecuador to serve at Pan de Vida.
Pray for staffing needs and funding for an administrator, program director, and a social worker.
Praise report - We welcome Richard Blair as our marketing director at Pan de Vida.
Pray for the board of Pan de Vida and our volunteers that we may honor the Lord with our obedience to His will and work at Pan de Vida.
Pray for consistant, God-fearing volunteers to work at Pan de Vida in our programs. |

Dear Pan de Vida Partners,
You have helped make a difference in the lives of many disadvantage people this year. We want to give you a snapshot of all that you helped us accomplished in 2010 and say THANK YOU for your partnership and support. We could not have done this without you! For that reason we are asking you to consider how the Lord may lead you to continue to support us in 2011. We look forward to serving with you again in 2011!Oscar Aguirre Executive Director Pan de Vida |

Christmas 2010 | Our christmas program is always a highlight for us. With the help our partner ministries, we were able to give almost 1300 people a special Christmas experience. The children at Pan de Vida always put on a special program for us and we strive to remind our beneficiaries of the greatest gift given to us...Jesus Christ and how important having a personal relationship with Him is! |
|
Helping Hands | Pan de Vida's house had some major work done to it this year - new pipes, extension of the kitchen, new bathrooms in the basement, remodeling of the micro-business room, electrical re-wiring, finishing the final section of our property wall. We couldn't have done it without you! We had several teams and individuals who came down and helped us. We are also thankful for donors who specifically responded to our urgent need for funds to cover the costs of these repairs. |
| Kids Club |
Fun and Growing All in One!
Kids thrive dynamic environments that allow them to learn while having fun! We have some wonderful volunteers who know just how to create that type of environment! The Kids Club is a monthly hightlight for our families with an average attendance of 100 persons monthly. The club provides friends, laughter, food, and real life topics that we hope will shape their young lives today and for their futures. As our ministry is family oriented, we have the parents of these children join us for a separate Bible study and teaching while their kids attend the Kids Club. |
| Soccer Camp | |
Soccer is a popular and well loved sport by many young (and old!) Ecuadorians. This year we had 24 excited teens between the ages of 12 and 15 participate. Teaching the fundamentals of soccer also allows us to teach them the fundamentals of life skills: team work, communication, discipline, making wise decisions...not always the easiest to teach an adolescent but well worth the effort. Our hope is that success on the soccer field will carry over to the classroom and home.

Vacation Bible School | Remember long ago when you used to attend VBS? The songs, stories, skits, arts and crafts and just plain fun that you had? Our VBS is traditional in the sense that it is about sharing the Gospel with kids in a fun learning environment where we give underprivileged kids the opportunity to play and learn about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In 2010 we were privileged to have Fountain of Life Lutheran Church serve as our VBS leaders with an average of 60 kids learning and singing about Jesus. |

Field Trips | |

Despite Quito being full of so many wonderful parks and museums, the vasty majority of our kids have never had the opportunity to go and explore these places.
Thanks to your generous donations we were able to hold three fun-filled trips in 2010 to Vulqano Park (an amusement park), Mitad del Mundo (a park/museum at the middle of the world), and the zoo!
Thanks for giving these kids such a memorable year! |

Micro-business Program | One of our core goals at Pan de Vida is to help our beneficiaries overcome poverty. The micro-business project is one way that we accomplish this. We had six hard working ladies graduate from this program. They were trained how to sew and market their products. They received a portion of the proceeds from their sales and were given the opportunity to purchase a sewing machine for a very small amount. This program went well beyond changing their financial situations but gave many of them hope and a sense of self worth. |
|
Public Health Program | We were able to give several beneficiaries new teeth and glasses this year. Our health fair looks at identifying at risk individuals and getting them help before it is too late. We spend approximately $4000 a year on providing medical services to our beneficiaries be it through surgeries, doctor's visits, glasses, dentures, or medicine. We are thankful to Hospital VozAndes and Clinica La Y for their partnership with our ministry and the loving, gentle care they give to our beneficiaries in their facilities. |
