Dear Friend,
Although the tornadoes that ravaged our state are long gone, the devastation and loss they inflicted lingers. It will take weeks, months and perhaps even years for individuals, families and communities to recover. Like me, you may have wondered about how you can help. Many already have, because all over our state, friends worked diligently to make sure that in the immediate aftermath of the storms, people had food, water and shelter. The job is far from completion, and there are children and families throughout Alabama that need your help - special help - today. Many of our neighbors throughout the state had challenges long before this disaster. They were dealing with disabilities...and so the destructive power of the storm did not just leave them without homes, cars and other necessities of life, it robbed them of mobility, access to services and in some cases, the ability to enter and leave their homes without assistance. As efforts to ascertain the extent of the damage are underway, we know the extent of people's compassion and generosity. It is limitless. No limits. That is what Alabama needs right now. No limits to generosity. No limits to support. No limits to making sure that people living with disabilities receive the assistance they need - as quickly as possible - to help them begin rebuilding their lives. That is why United Cerebral Palsy affiliates across our state created the Altogether Disaster Relief Fund for Disabilities. You can make a direct impact by giving a gift to ALtogether. Your generosity will not only help with the basics, but will help provide critical items like wheelchairs, batteries for wheelchairs, adaptive equipment and other vital services. Show your support today, and help our families begin rebuilding their lives. There is no limit to what we can do when we are ALtogether. Sincerely, Glenn R.
