Greetings!
|
The days of tattooing your logo onto a t-shirt, pen, or mouse-pad to reach customers is over. Your customers are increasingly spending more time online and with mobile devices than watching television. They are screaming to engage with your brand using new media, content, and online social networks. Is your brand web 3.0 ready?
Here are 4 Ways to Extend Your Brand - the Web 3.0 Way;
Create a Mobile Version of Your Blog
People, clients, and potential customers are constantly on-the-go. Let
them take your blog with them by serving up a mobile friendly version. I
use the WordPress Mobile Edition plugin for Wordpress which gives my blog a slick mobile interface. You can also publish a Kindle version of your blog
which can be sold and make you extra money with ease. Here's the website you'll
need to submit your blog.
Develop Your Own Mobile ApplicationMillions of people buy apps (short for applications) and download them too their Iphones and Android (Google) powered phones everyday. Extend your brand by creating your own with iSites. With this service you'll be able to design your app, customize it anyway you want, and even sell ad space if you want to monetize it. You couldn't ask for a simpler tool that will get your brand, business, or blog into the hands (literally) of millions of mobile users! Note: iSites doesn't have the capability to create a Blackberry compatible app (at least, not yet). The easiest thing to do is to create a app launcher for Blackberry phones. When clicked, it will take the user to the mobile version of your website or blog. You can create a launcher for Blackberry using the BBLauncher service. Deliver Your Blog or Website as a Desktop Application
Before all this talk of cloud computing and finding information in "the cloud" people bought and used software on their desktops. You had to launch an application from your desktop to get to the internet. . . why not have the same for your website or blog?
By using Prism you can do just that. Desktop applications run faster, smoother, and offer richer experiences than web-only applications such as checking email or reading blogs. Prsim lets you take any web page and turn it into a desktop application. You'll also get a desktop icon launcher, your app will sit in the toolbar, along with notifications for anything new you produce. Give it a shot and extend your brand onto the computers of potential customers everywhere!
Create Your Own Social Network
Sure, the web 2.0 era was really [and still is] the social media era. And yes, you could easily create a social network of your own by using a service called, Ning. However, creating your own social network wasn't very mainstream . . . until the creators of Wordpress stepped in and created Buddypress.
This suite of software adds a social networking capabilities to your existing Wordpress blog. What does that mean? It means, your blog's community can really become an online community, create their own blog posts, upload media, chat in a forum, and more. This not only extends your brand beyond your blog, but it enables your readers to interact with your brand which deepens loyalty.
Ning isn't bad or anything, it just hasn't captured the hearts and minds of people around the world like Wordpress has. If you want to create a totally new social networking site, give Ning a try. If you want to use your current Wordpress blog, then Buddypress is where it's at!
Don't let your brand miss the web 3.0 revolution that is rolling in at full speed ahead. Don't worry if you're a late bloomer when it comes to blogging, social networking, or web 2.0. You can still leave a mark and crush your competition by extending your brand in a web 3.0. way . . .
