Greetings!
|
Last week's launch of The Entrepreneur's Guide to Twitter Success marked a milestone in blog traffic for the Success Center, but what about profits? I didn't sell my e-book because I wanted it to "go viral" and be shared around the internet (which it was), but I could have easily sold it. How?
First, let's talk about your e-book's content. If you're going to sell it, it has to be worth buying. That doesn't mean showing people how to solve a problem in 10 pages or less. It means telling a story, illustrating step-by-step how to accomplish a goal, and solving problems along the way. This would make your e-book valuable and not just a good read.
For more tips on creating an e-book, check out 10 Steps to Success with E-Book Publishing from the archives.
Here are 6 Ways You Can Make Money with E-Books:
Your Blog - Do you have a community of readers that visit your blog on a regular basis? If so, your influence can easily net you profits by exploring a topic even further in an e-book. You can also set-up an affiliate program and allow other blog owners to sell your book for a small profit. You can set one up using Commission Junction. That's where I get some of the ads that are displayed on my blog.
Amazon Kindle - Amazon's e-book reader is absolutely huge right now. It's surprisingly easy to get your e-book in their Kindle store. What's even better, is it won't take you long to format your e-book for Kindles as they don't render images in color. Here's the website you need to submit a copy.
Amazon Store - Don't forget about Amazon's general website which is a breeding ground for sales. Generating strong search terms for your e-book is the key to success here. Here's the link that'll help you set-up your own Amazon store.
Amazon Print-on-Demand - The last round in Amazon's munition is it's print-on-demand services. Why not turn your e-book into a short book/pamphlet and sell it at conferences, speaking gigs, and other events? There are no minimum purchase orders either so your customers can purchase as many or as few as they'd like.
EBay - Remember the world's largest online marketplace? Well, it's still a great way to make extra money and sell just about anything. I wouldn't place a bid price for your e-book here, slap on a "Buy it Now" price and watch it fly! Here's a seller's page that'll show you how to be successful on Ebay.
E-mail Subscribers - Your e-mail subscribers are subscribed to you for a reason, right? Offer them first dibs on your e-book, special promotional pricing, and let Paypal handle the money. Constant Contact lets you add PayPal buttons in your email with ease. It's just another reason why I use them. Click here to try them free for 60 days. I guarantee you'll love their service.
You probably have a wealth of knowledge to share in the form of an e-book. Don't let it go to waste, maximize every tool you have and start bringing in extra income in the form of e-books!

What Christian
Entrepreneurs Could Learn from Andrew Carnegie
|
I loved reading Carnegie by Peter Krass. It's an excellent biography of
Andrew Carnegie, the man who created his fortune in the steel industry
and gave it all away at the end of his life.
Admittedly, though he had good business practices he had questionable
ones too . . . Read More . . .
