The Alameda County Office of Education is proud to announce this year's winners of the celebrated Teacher of the Year Awards. The district winners will be honored and recognized for their achievements during an award ceremony on October 6, 2011. The Alameda County Teacher of the Year winner and candidate for the state nomination will also be announced during the event.
As we prepare to celebrate our annual recognition event, I would like to express my gratitude to faculty and staff who remain strong despite the adversity surrounding our profession. You embody the super-powers that awaken and inspire the curiosity and initiative of our future heroes.
In this special edition of In Touch, we also want to share with you a list of free activities and events within Alameda County and by region (North-County, Mid-County, South-County and Tri-Valley) as well as links to district-wide summer camps for you and your children to enjoy. We encourage you to take a moment to review what is available to you; to organize groups of friends and family, and venture out to explore and play.
As always, we are here to continue our leadership and support in providing opportunities for educators, administrators, families and children.
Have a safe and healthy summer vacation.
Stay In Touch! Sheila.
