The warmth & generosity of our customers, suppliers & friends brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it.  With your help & overwhelming generosity we were able to give the gift of Christmas Spirit to over 50 children who are clients of Aunt Martha's. We were able to sponsor 25 children living in foster homes of Aunt Martha's and brought down over $700 worth of gifts to the Children's shelter in Chicago - we had jackets, clothes, blankets,watches, jewelery, bathsets, games, toys, books, and more. All in all, we completely filled 2 vans to the brim!  The joy that you have given is the best gift of all and no price can be put on it! I can't thank you enough.

I'm sorry, 2009, it's just not working out.  It's time for us to move on. Why?  Well, lots of reasons, really.  You didn't live up to my expectations.  You left people acared and skittish.  And some other reasons, too, including:
  • Some of my favorite clients were shifted around from role to role in corporate reorganizing in maddening attempts to save CEO paychecks. 
  • Many of my friends are still searching for work that matches their incredible education and expertise.
  • Blagojevich.
  • Balloon boy's parents and the thousands like them.
  • Miley Cirus and her "breaking up with Twiter" rap.
  • Speidi.
But like any long-term relationship, you gave me lessons, too.

California Dealer Takes 'Easy is Expensive'

Bob Harris says Staples charges its customers more than the manufacturers' suggested retail price, he doesn't like it and he's not going to take it anymore.

In response, Bob and his team at Discount Office Services in Irvine, California, have been taking their "Easy is Expensive" message to the streets, with an aggressive guerilla marketing effort that, Bob says, shows how unsuspecting Staples customers can end up paying far more than if they bought from their locally owned and operated independent.

To make the point, Bob has transformed himself into "Discount Dude," and he and his team of loyal supporters are picketing Staples locations in his market, armed with a megaphone and cash receipts showing Staples' above-MSRP pricing, in one case over $60 on purchases of $750.
