Dear Friends
The height of midsummer has come and gone, and we are still waiting for summer to arrive! We have such great expectations that the cycle of the seasons "should" bring sunshine and temperate warmth in abundance at this time of year to those of us in the northern hemisphere, and sometimes forget that we live within greater cycles which may bring about very different patterns. Some of us on this planet have been experiencing life-threatening drought, heat, storms, floods, and other natural disasters. Our mother the Earth has not been resting quietly, and the foundations of our civilisation and culture are also being rocked at a fundamental level.
However, while the sun may not be shining on our collective picnic, we are experiencing a time of huge enrichment and fertilisation, as corruption on all levels is uncovered and judged to be unacceptable. This can act as compost if we let it, a substance to feed new growth, while we are challenged to find new ways of living together on this planet which are not based upon fear and greed.
We are now in the opening stages of a global unfoldment symbolised by the relationship formed in our skies by Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn. Uranus is the planet of change, awakening, and revolution, and in the sign of Aries does this in a highly forceful way. Pluto is associated with death, transformation, and rebirth, and since 2008 has been moving through the sign of Capricorn, which symbolises structures, the establishment, and institutions of all kinds. From planet Earth, we see these two planets lining up seven times between June 2012 and March 2015 in a relationship known to astrologers as a "square", indicating the first manifestations of seeds sown when those planets "conjuncted" in the mid-1960s.
The forms which have given our world structure and stability are going through a cycle of renewal, which will allow the new to take root, flourish and grow. We are co-creators of this new world.
With love and blessings on our work together
Carol

"Through these times of purposeful turmoil,
unconditionally loving non-attachment and
being in the here and now of the present moment
will be enormously helpful to how we experience
and evolve our collective awareness with clarity,
compassion, and co-creativity into a new era."

Message from Janice
This seems to be a summer of the upswelling of Spirit across the British Isles as we prepare to host the Olympics and tackle the financial and other turmoils in creative ways. The sight of the Philharmonic Choir at the end of the Jubilee Pageant sounding out "Land of Hope and Glory" regardless of the pouring rain and the Queen bravely continuing the celebrations, despite her husband being taken into hospital, were reminiscent of the spirit of "keep calm and carry on" that brought us through WW2.
Something happened as the Olympic torch traversed these lands, the street parties engendered community, planet Venus moved across the face of the sun, and we moved towards a more loving way of being. During the finale of the Jubilee Concert with Sir Paul McCartney leading the singing, and the lights and fireworks glowing over Buckingham Palace, I felt a downpouring of Spirit earthing itself through me while the full moon shone down its blessing.
Imagination can play tricks but this felt like a response of the heavens to the many dedications of ourselves and invocations of the Light that so many groups across the land have been undertaking. May each of us steadfastly and joyfully play our given part in anchoring a new era of love, kindness, courage and co-operation across these lands and planet. As Matthew Fox encouraged us during the Into Christ Consciousness gathering, may we dearly "love every blade of grass".

"Yes, we are at a tipping point. Our personal and spiritual growth is so vital
as ALL of us must contribute our best selves
toward positively shaping our future.
And then, when we can integrate
our inner shift with our true calling,
we become vital evolutionary leaders.
If enough of us make the shift from ego to essence,
and form community and critical mass, we CAN
collectively tip the balance away from chaos
and together co-create this world anew."

Annual Round Table
Friends and associates of Wrekin are warmly invited to join our annual Round Table gathering at Hawkwood College on 21-23 September. This year our theme is Beyond 2012: Towards a Planetary Consciousness. We have heard so much about the significance of 2012, and now it is upon us. So much is shifting, both in the world and also in our personal lives. This will be an opportunity to take stock and look at the "bigger picture" - what is the long term perspective on what is happening and what comes next, for the planet and for ourselves? What is our role and how can we best express the evolutionary urge within us?
Increasingly we are finding that interactive participation is the key to our gatherings. With a range of world-class presenters and facilitators, we shall have the opportunity to explore these questions together and to share our findings. On Saturday afternoon we are hosting an Intergenerational World Café, when several young people will join us from discussions on how we can work together on the unfoldment of what is to come. We are also inviting contributions for those of you who would like to share your creative gifts of song, poetry, music, dance, story-telling, or the visual arts, on the theme of Planetary Consciousness.
It will be a rich feast in many ways. Do come and join us. Please click herefor more details and registration form.

"Imagine what it would be like if
there was no sense of otherness
when you were with other people.
How would it feel if there was
no trace of self-consciousness, and
no preoccupation with superiority,
competition, fear, mistrust, or unworthiness?
Dare to consider, just for a moment, the possibility
of being so at ease in the company of others that
there was nothing to hide, nothing to defend -
only the fear-less transparency of egoless awareness
and the ecstatic urgency of the evolutionary impulse.
That is what it feels like when we awaken
to the Authentic Self, together."

Into Christ Consciousness
For those of us fortunate enough to attend the Into Christ Consciousness gathering at Findhorn at Easter, it was a memorable experience and an opportunity to open and offer ourselves as a channel for the new consciousness that is emerging. In addition to hearing inspirational speakers and presenters, we engaged in an interactive process which included meditation and contemplation, music, dance and ritual, personal sharing, practical discussion and exploring tools for empowerment.
A four-day journal was kept by one participant describing some of the events which took place, and this has been made available on http://intocc.net. Whether you were able to be there or not, do take a look. It really captures the spirit of the time we spent together.

"Christ has no body now on Earth but yours, No hands but yours, no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which he pours out
compassion to the world. Yours are his hands blessing me now, All praise to the One."

Building Conscious Leadership
During the well-supported Spirit in London day on 12 May, we were able to focus on the positive energy surrounding the Jubilee and the Olympics, and also to consider London in its role as an international hub of business and finance. So much radical change is needed in this area, to bring spiritual values and principles into business dealings.
The Foundation for Workplace Spirituality, a not-for-profit organisation run by long-standing friends of the Wrekin Trust, are planning a major event in November which is aimed at senior leaders in organisations. They are seeking to convene leaders of courage and conviction to identify together new ways of leading, of being, and of getting things done - building consciousness in organisations. From this autumn event they aim to follow up with further events and activities that will raise the profile of the changes needed and work on proposing solutions.
Do pass this information on to anyone you know who may be interested. Together we can make a difference.

Choose, Change and Become
A retreat for young and emerging leaders will be taking place from Friday 31 August to Sunday 2 September in the beautiful setting of the Brahma Kumaris Global Retreat Centre in Oxford. Aimed at those between 18-30 years of age, this retreat is about experimenting with a new approach to change; an inside-out approach based on an understanding of the deep connection between our inner and outer worlds. The retreat aims to explore brave new ways of operating, innovative ways of seeing, and positive ways of being.
Do please draw this to the attention of any young leaders who are interested in positive change and would welcome the opportunity to discuss, explore, write, reflect, meditate and inspire, and discover what great potential lies within.

Shauna Crockett-Burrows 1930-2012
It is with sadness and gratitude that we bid farewell to Shauna, founder of Positive News and old friend of Wrekin, who left this world on 3 May 2012. Shauna was a remarkable person, who helped many people throughout her long and interesting life and had an enormous impact. For the last twenty years, she committed herself to spreading light and hope through Positive News. To help ensure her legacy, her friends are invited to consider making a donation to Positive News in her memory. |

New Courses
For those who would like to learn new skills in order to be of greater service, some of our associate organisations are starting new courses in the Autumn which might interest you.
Dinah Lawson, INEH, an experienced teacher of esoteric healing, is starting a new course in Subtle Energy Healing at The Hayloft, Emsworth, Hampshire. This profound and practical approach to spiritual healing will be taught for one weekend a month over two years. In addition to receiving a sound in-depth training in healing techniques, many who have attended Dinah's previous courses have found them to be personally transformative and life-changing. Contact Dinah, 02392 412499, info@thehayloft-emsworth.org.uk, or see www.thehayloft-emsworth.org.uk
Naomi and William Duffield at Mangreen Hall near Norwich are launching two courses in September, the Mangreen Spiritual Companion course and the Certificate in Spiritual Counselling. The psychospiritual approach integrates both psychological healing and spiritual development, seeing crises not as problems but as stepping stones for great spiritual emergence and opportunities for growth. Known as the fourth force in therapy, it builds on traditional theories of human development, whilst integrating Spiritual Presence and Practice. For more information contact Naomi or William, 01508 570444, trust@mangreen.co.uk, or see www.mangreen.co.uk. |

"It is not necessary to search for peace;
it is within. Your original state is one of peace.
External situations will pull you away from your peace
- that is, if you let them.
Internal feelings can also pull you away.
Tiredness, for example, leads to irritability.
Learn to be in charge of yourself and
maintain your peace: centre your awareness on
your spiritual form, a tiny star-like point of light,
seated in the middle of your forehead.
Really experience the difference
between You the sparkling Star,
and your body, the physical vehicle.
Learn to detach yourself from the vehicle.
Even a few moments of this practice,
if done regularly, will return you
to your natural state of peace.
Tiredness will vanish, irritability, too.
And your actions will be filled with love
- for the self and others."
Companion of God
Dadi Janki, 2010
