"An awareness of global oneness

has begun to constellate.  The idea of the unity of

life, that 'we are one', no longer belongs just to a spiritual

or ecological fringe; it is becoming part of the mainstream.

But this awareness is lacking an essential ingredient - it is still

an idea, it is not fully alive.  When it becomes alive, the

heart of the world will open and we will hear its song,

the song of the oneness of life.  The unity of life

is a direct expression of the divine and it is

our lived connection to the divine that gives

us meaning.  This song will remind

us of our true nature and

why we are here."

Dear Friends

Summer is the time when the sun is at its highest point and we have the most access to light and energy in the northern hemisphere.  The daily presence of our sun in the sky has been a focal point of life on this planet since the beginning of time, and we live our lives in accordance with its rhythmic comings and goings.  Early man believed that he had to propitiate the golden sun so that its life-giving power would return each Spring and bring the seasons of warmth and harvest.  Scientific man knew that the seasons rolled on regardless of our wishes, and we came to believe that we were disconnected from the great patterns and rhythms of the natural world.

Yet we are now beginning to realise that we are all part of a vast web of connections that encompass not only life on this planet but the solar system and beyond, as we revolve around the heart of our galaxy - 'our' galaxy, just one of an unimaginable number contained by the infinite.

This summer as we experience the tumultuous events in the world we share, we see reflected in the movement of the heavens great alignments of archetypal energy patterns that show us that we are now at a very critical time in our collective evolution.  On an individual level we are being tested and collectively we are going through a time of crisis, as we are challenged to change our way of living together on this planet of plenty.  We were given a garden to live in, sufficient for all our needs.  What have we done to it?   We need to move beyond a culture of blame, and realise that we are all responsible.

With collective responsibility comes the need to participate willingly and joyfully in the great process which is taking place.  We know that the web of connections is a subtle one and that we can play our part in generating harmony instead of conflict, and help in the process of healing a world suffering from our abuses.  We must now do what we know.  We need to learn how to connect to the stillness, to listen to what is beyond our own mental clatter, our own self-interest, and our own "stuff" which simply gets in the way of the work that is ours to do.

With love and blessings

Carol Duncan

"Subtle activism is about using subtle energies for
promoting, restoring, fostering, and co-creating wholeness.
Every being is woven into a fabric of life through
a variety of subtle energy connections."

"In attuning to the Gulf and the coastlines
where death and damage are occurring,
hold an image of these areas in their perfection
when healing has taken place.
See the area connected and whole.
In other words, tune into the template of wholeness
held by the vaster consciousnesses and hold
the joy and beauty of that template;
it forms a matrix around which healing can take place."

Holding HandsMessage from Janice

"Ethos is about creating an atmosphere within which things can happen," said Martin Palmer at a recent conference held collaboratively by the Wrekin Trust and Alister Hardy Society, and "the great role of spirituality is to create an ethos".  He went on to tell us of meetings he has held with government ministers in China and how they realise that they have made a "massive mistake" by turning their backs on China's spiritual traditions.  They have now lost what it is to be Chinese.  Instead, they have dozens of new shopping malls being built every week, and single child 'little emperors' or 'empresses' demanding more and more material things.  They are now asking to reconnect with and partner Taoists or Buddhists to 'create a spiritual culture of harmony'.

Harmony is generated when we live in a state of gratitude, of hope and a loving sense of connectedness that enables us to vibrate in tune with the core energies of the Universe - which we could call the 'Christ energy' or 'Krishna Consciousness' or 'Buddha Mind'. From this attunement we can then be a 'blessing to nature and each other' as the orthodox churches put it; we can draw the best out of every situation we encounter and, instead of fearing whatever tumultuous transition that may arise in our global or personal worlds, we can celebrate each moment that takes us further towards an edge we cannot yet see beyond - trusting that the ethos we collectively generate will enable the best possible outcomes in any situation.

" . . .  as the pattern of connections grows

It is through the connections of individuals and groups that

the consciousness of oneness will penetrate our collective consciousness

Holding Hands Annual Round Table - 29-31 October 2010

An Invitation to all Associates and Friends

We warmly invite you to join us at at our Annual Round Table to be held at Hawkwood College, Stroud, on 29-31 October.  This year our main theme is "Evolutionary Consciousness"  with a focus on the questions: "What is it?" and "What has to Change?"

The planned programme for the weekend includes the opportunity to meet and come together at all levels, and to work together interactively in experiential sessions with inspirational facilitators from some of our associate organisations including David Karchere from the International Emissaries, Kyrsten Perry from EnlightenNext, Peter Rhodes-Dimmer from the Global Change Foundation based in France, Hazel Carey of WYSE International, and James D'Angelo.

The Annual Round Table is a key point in the Wrekin year.  It is an opportunity for us all to gather together as did the knights of old, to enjoy good companionship and draw strength before venturing forth refreshed on the next stage of the quest.  Do join us. Please click here for full details and registration form.

"There is an inner voice of truth calling to each of us.

However it shows up for a person, it inspires honesty and clarity

in the way one relates to one's own life and to other people.

If we are to hear the voice that speaks with us and

be that voice in our world, it takes a steady listening

and our willingness to let the expression

of that inner voice of truth come all the way through.

And a person has to let any internal mental racket recede

so that voice may be heard.

Accord.  Peace.  Serenity.

Letting those qualities reign internally,

a person's inner voice can take root and grow

in the realm of their thoughts and feelings.

A person can find that what is happening in them

is like the rising of the sun.

There is an inner radiance that sheds light

on a person's experience and on their world."

Holding Hands Coming Together in Stillness

On 9 June there was a further meeting of the Holding Group at Douai Abbey.  We use the name "Holding Group" to describe the process of "holding the vision" of the inner work, which is just as vital as the outer work that goes on through the activities of the Forum and its associates.

It was a day to turn within and connect with the silence, inwardly asking and reflecting upon certain questions.

-  "What are you deeply thankful for right now?"

-  "What is really calling you at this time?"

-  "What helps us to connect to the rhythm of the times?

       Individually?  Collectively?"

-  "What do you need to do now?"

As we sat together, we remembered that to "con-sider" is to let go of ego and connect "with the stars", and with the pulse of life.  As we "came back into the room" and shared our experiences, there was a sense of deep connectedness.  Whilst individuals had been on their own journeys, together we were able to share in a collective process of discovery.

A further meeting is booked for Tuesday 5 October at Douai Abbey in Woolhampton,  near Reading.  If you would like to attend, please contact Carol, carolduncan8hl@btinternet.com or 01243 572714.

"We would like to introduce the notion that

a miraculous healing awaits this planet

once we accept our new responsibility to collectively

tend the Garden rather than fight over the turf.

When a critical mass of people truly own this belief

in their hearts and minds

and actually begin living from this truth,

our world will emerge from the darkness

in what will amount to a spontaneous evolution."

Bruce Lipton

Holding Hands Conference on Universal Christ Consciousness

A collaborative conference on Universal Christ Consciousness is in the early stages of planning.  This significant gathering will be held at the Findhorn Foundation, Scotland, over Easter 2012.  The Wrekin Trust is one of several groupings supporting both the event and a preparatory two years of contributing to this theme through local groupings and a website that is being set up.

Should you be interested in involvement in some way then please contact Janice Dolley through dolley@wrekintrust.org or 01452 840033.

AT THE DAWN OF A NEW CONSCIOUSNESS:

Art, Philosophy and the Birth of the Modern World

Bernard Nesfield-Cookson

Temple Lodge Publishing, 2010

At a time when we are engaging with Evolutionary Consciousness and considering the possibility of a New Renaissance in our own century, Bernard Nesfield-Cookson has produced a beautifully illustrated book which looks at the Dawn of a New Consciousness which accompanied the Italian Renaissance in the 15th century.

He suggests that the source of the new impulses at that time is to be found in what Rudolf Steiner referred to a the birth of 'the consciousness soul' - the faculty for 'objective self-awareness' - which is reflected in 15th century Florentine painting, sculpture and architecture, and in Plato's Academy of Athens.  More.......

"How then are Souls to be made?

How then are these sparks which are God

to have identity given to them -

so as ever to possess a bliss

peculiar to each one's individual existence?

How, but by the medium of a world like this?"

John Keats

letter 14 February 1819
