Dear Friends

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer, wherever you may be and whatever the weather.  We seem to be alternating between enjoying sunshine and summer fruits, and dodging drenching showers and summer storms.  The world is a beautiful place, and the fruits of the year are growing and ripening.  The seeds of new beginnings planted in the Spring are now showing us what kind of harvest we have to look forward to.

In all our lives, individually and collectively, projects and processes are steadily moving towards maturity.  Sometimes the going is easy, at others we have to dig deep to redeem and transform before making forward progress.  The path of development can seem labyrinthine, as we are forced to change direction again and again on our journey.  This is when we need to remember that there are no wrong paths in a labyrinth.  There is one path only, and all we have to do is keep on going and it will take us to our destination.

Part of our task right now with Saturn and Uranus still opposing each other in the sky is to realise that our attachment to form is being tested.  This may feel threatening, as forms and structures are going through a necessary process of death and rebirth.  If we can learn to connect with the essence and release the form, then an important lesson can be part of our harvest this year.

Blessings
Carol

Holding Hands Message from Janice

There is a rising tide of awareness of the oneness of life and the loving nature of a greater consciousness of which each living being is an integral part.  It is this kind of awareness that has drawn associates together and propels the work that each of us does.  Now this awareness is peeping through the clouds of a materialistic and separative consciousness in new and more public ways.

In the US President Obama called for the evolutionary leaders to communicate what is transpiring on the planet and how the course of urgent global crisis might be changed.  On 8 July, Prince Charles gave the Dimbleby lecture 'Facing the Future' to which David Lorimer contributed.  This was on the need for policies and actions to be based on the inter-connectedness of all life.  A new small, inspiring book: "Soul Power - an Agenda for a Conscious Humanity" is currently circulating and is highly recommended
(Anne Baring and Scilla Elworthy, BookSurge, May 2009).

The conclusion of each of these is the same: 'together, let us co-create a new narrative of conscious evolution that is a call to individual and collective action, birthing the most significant transformation of consciousness in history'.  Let us ride the tide of synergy that is flowing and collaborate towards this shift.

Holding Hands  Annual Round Table - Rising to the Evolutionary Challenge of Our Time

The programme is now taking shape for our forthcoming Annual Round Table (RT9) at Hawkwood College, Stroud, on 18-20 September.  We have been receiving some great suggestions and offers of input from some of you, and are looking forward to a rich selection of contributions.  These will include quiet meditative times, music, images, and sound, as well as some stimulating discussions.  There will also be opportunities for you, our associates, to let us know how we can best work together to meet the evolutionary challenge before us.

Our main speakers have now been confirmed.  On Saturday we focus on understanding the challenges to be faced.  Tony Hodgson will introduce the theme "Understanding the Challenge in a Global Context", and Nigel Anthony will explain about the scope of the recently launched Holistic Mapping project.  On Sunday we focus on how we can rise to meet the challenges both individually and collectively.  Karen Ralls will connect us to the Transformative Journey through the power of the symbolic realm, and Scilla Elworthy will speak on "Soul Power - how it can be used to meet the challenges of the present time".

There is still some space available for the weekend, but single rooms in particular are in high demand.  If you have been intending to apply but have not yet done so, you would be well advised to register without further delay.  Please click here for a copy of the application form.
Holding Hands  Soul Power

An introduction to Scilla Elworthy's contribution to the Round Table:

"No problem can be solved from the consciousness that created it.
As the economic and social structures of our world collapse around us, websites around the world are quoting Einstein's famous words.  Well and good, but how do we move to a new level of consciousness?

First, we understand that the crisis of our times is not only an ecological, political and financial crisis but a spiritual one.  The answers we seek will not come from the limited consciousness that now rules the world.  They can only grow from a deeper understanding born of the union of heart and head.  This union would enable us to see that all life is one, that each one of us participates in a cosmic life of immeasurable dimensions.

Our health and the health of the planet require this deeper insight, this sense of belonging to a greater whole.  It alone can help us to recover values that have been increasingly lost until we now live without them - and without even noticing they have gone."

From "Soul Power: An Agenda for a Conscious Humanity" by Anne Baring and Scilla Elworthy, BookSurge May 2009.
"Love is the new religion of the 21st century.
You don't have to be a highly educated person
or have any exceptional knowledge to understand it.
It comes from the intelligence of the heart,
embedded in the timeless evolutionary pulse
of all human beings.
Be the change you want to see in the world.
Nobody else can do it for you.
We are now recruiting.
Perhaps you will join us.  Or already have.
All are welcome.
The door is open."

Holding Hands  News from the Regions

Our regional activities continue to thrive.  Established groups have been continuing to meet regularly, and some are now taking a summer break during the holiday season.

A new series of Regional Round Tables starts in the Autumn, with a meeting on 5 September in Leamington Spa (contact Beth Foster, 01926 744 962, beth@mosaic-lifestyle.com), followed by one on 1 October in Forest Row (contact Janice Dolley, 01452 840033, info@wrekintrust.org).  Dates are also being arranged in the New Year for RRTs in Reading, Bath, and the Bexhill and Hastings area.

Do get in touch with Janice if you would like us to arrange a Regional Round Table and/or help you form an ongoing group to support deeper spiritual connection in your area.  To find out more about how to get involved in this way, why not come to the day for Local Connectors at Hawkwood on Friday 18 September.

Holding Hands  Now is the Time

A message from our friend and associate William Bloom is circulating widely - have you seen it?  Here is an extract:

"Over the coming months, the non-profit Foundation for Holistic Spirituality and HolisticMap UK are being launched.  Their purpose is to integrate our approach to spirituality - open-hearted, open-minded, holistic - into mainstream society.  We are particularly aiming at healthcare, education, social services and citizenship.

Our purpose is also to achieve representation on all those decision-making and consultative bodies where traditional religions have a voice - for example, interfaith, religious education committees, pastoral care and chaplaincies.

Several times over the last decade I have represented a holistic and new age approach at conferences and in the media, and have often been told, 'Yes, it seems like there is a substantial movement - but where are the numbers, the core beliefs and the ethical code?'  In one academic description of this new spirituality, the author actually suggests that we have no chance of getting heard because it is doubtful that we can network and organise.  Let's surprise him.

Our first major strategy - in order to achieve representation and be heard - is to show our numbers.  To achieve this we have created a website that functions like a holistic yellow pages and can list and map all holistic and spiritual activities in the United Kingdom.  Please register on it and get your friends to sign up too."

"O cosmic Birther of all radiance and vibration
Soften the ground of our being and carve out a space
within us where Your Presence can abide.
Fill us with your creativity so that we may be empowered
To bear the fruit of Your mission.
Let each of our actions bear fruit in accordance with Your desire.
Endow us with the wisdom to produce
And share what each being needs to grow and flourish.

Untie the tangled threads of destiny that bind us,
As we release others from the entanglement of past mistakes.
Do not let us be seduced by that which would divert us
 from our true Purpose,
but illuminate the opportunities of the present moment.

For You are the round and fruitful vision, the birth-power and
Fulfilment, as all is gathered and made whole once again."
