Dear Friends

What a wonderful Spring!  After the harshness of the winter months, Nature is bursting forth with more abundance than ever in the yearly miracle of renewal.  The annual cycle of death and rebirth has been an essential part of the pattern of life on this planet since the beginning, and a powerful influence within our genetic and cultural inheritance.  At some level we know that rebirth of the new follows the death of what went before, and yet there is a sense of joy and gratitude when it occurs, as if we cannot quite take it for granted.

Journeys of transformation which commenced with the Spring Equinox are now under way, and the brighter light shows us where spring-cleaning is still needed.  The energy of new growth is all around us.  Now is the time for a vision quest - for spiritual seekers to dream the dream of what the potential could be if we could only rise above our self-imposed restrictions.  This is a vision that goes beyond the limitations of the individual, and acknowledges our spiritual interdependence as we join together to co-create intentions which will bring about a future reality for us all and for our planet.

Blessings
Carol

"The crisis facing humanity today is, at its root,
a crisis of consciousness.  We are being called
to put into practice the perennial wisdom of the ages."
Peter Russell
Holding Hands Message from Janice

Many of us who are seeking to serve a higher purpose find ourselves at a mid-point between the pull of responding to an inner or soul level sense of what one is being asked to do or be, and the pull of the complexity of everyday needs that seem to clamour for attention.  Sharing how we handle this apparent point of tension is useful. Two responses come to mind.  The first is to stay calm and centred so that "peace be amongst you".  The second is to be more "grounded in our place", ie find a focus on the one part of the "Great Work" that is for us to do.

The planetary tide is turning.  In one sense the "shift" is inevitable, in another sense it can only happen if each of us does our bit - be this managing, co-ordinating, doing, praying, being.  There is a new stream of energy flowing in the Forum.  This stream is energised by the intensity of focus and by the collaboration and coherence of many people all "putting hands to the plough".

Thank you for being there; thank you for all you bring.

Janice Dolley
Holding Hands  Annual Round Table - Rising to the Evolutionary Challenge of Our Time

You are warmly invited to take part in our forthcoming Annual Round Table (RT9) to be held at Hawkwood College, Stroud, on 18-20 September.  Please click here for further details and how to apply, and pass on the information to anyone else who might be interested.

In the legend, the knights of the King pursued their individual paths, yet were united in the overall quest for the Grail.  They would meet together at a round table where none took precedence but all had equal access to the centre.  There was collective leadership.  The quest for the Grail was for the healing of the wounded fisher king and the restoration of the wasteland.

If you are pursuing your individual path as part of the Great Work, this is an opportunity to join with your peers in a restatement of a greater unity which is working for the restoration of the wasteland of our times.

"The clue to the significance of group work, esoterically speaking, is to absorb, share, circulate and then distribute energy."

Alice Bailey

Holding Hands  The Wrekin Trust

Here at the Wrekin Trust we have been going through our own cycle of renewal, with a change of energy and re-organisation of our management and administration.  Valued old friends on the board of trustees have decided to step back after years of service, and a new interim board is in place.  A council has been set up, working collaboratively to handle policy and governance, comprising both trustees and members of the day-to-day working team.  You will be hearing further in due course about the development of our new collaborative structure.

It seems appropriate at this stage to clarify the relationship of the Wrekin Forum to the Wrekin Trust.  The Wrekin Trust is the overall charitable body, which has several projects running within it.  The largest of these is the Wrekin Forum.  There are also other projects, notably the Youth Project and the developing areas of Participative Spiritual Inquiry, and Transorganisational Function.

The Wrekin Forum provides a forum or meeting place for those interested in contemporary spirituality and seeking companionship on the path.  By joining together with others, we discover that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts, and together we can!

spiral small Finding our Place

In the Wrekin Forum we are finding that as each of us "finds our place" and focuses on the one or two things we are best at - as any piece in an overall pattern which we can only glimpse - then our own bit of the jigsaw fits neatly in with the others.

The circle of those offering to take on a role or focus of some kind is widening.  Maybe your own work is already a significant piece and others in the Forum can support you personally or make whatever you are doing more widely known.  Or maybe you are aware of having a little spare time or energy to offer, in which case do please contact Carol (0845 0179029 or carolduncan8h@btinternet.com) to explore how the slots that Wrekin needs to fill might match your own interests and skills.
"You are given the gifts of the gods;
you create your reality according to your beliefs.
Yours is the creative energy that makes your world.
There are no limitations to the self
except those you believe in."
 Jane Roberts
Holding Hands  Wrekin Forum Retreat

A group of associates and friends enjoyed a welcome two days of peace and enrichment at the Forum Retreat at Douai Abbey in April.  We were all asked to bring something we would love to share, and together co-created a feast for the spirit, deepening spiritual connection through sound, colour, meditation, music-making, dance, poetry, chocolate, and a lover's walk to a bluebell wood.

This was just one example of how together we can!
"A New Heaven is the transformed state of human consciousness;
a New Earth is its reflection in the physical world."
Sir George Trevelyan

There are still spaces available for William's forthcoming workshop at Hawkwood College on 22-24 May, In the Image of God: You are the Divinity you Seek, contact info@hawkwoodcollege.co.uk.

David Lorimer reviews:
AWAKENING CONSCIOUSNESS:
Selected Lectures of Sir George Trevelyan
Compiled by Keith Armstrong
Godstow Press, Oxford, 2008

"Running throughout is his unquenchable sense of hope . . .   His message of awakening consciousness rather than religious revival will surely resonate with a new generation of readers."

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves,
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest
the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."
