December 2011 News
|
Greetings,
I am excited to share with you a short film about my Elderly Animals project that was created by Walley Films. Filming was done in San Antonio and Kendalia, Texas in May 2011. Warm thanks goes to Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation for letting us film at their sanctuary and to Mark and Angela Walley for their beautiful work.
I am also writing to share with you some wonderful news and recent press coverage that my work has received. And I want to let you know that prices for my fine art prints will increase on January 15. There is still time though to take advantage of the current introductory pricing. Finally, my Thrills & Chills exhibition catalog is now available for purchase online exclusively through the Fraction Magazine Holiday Sale. 2011 was a remarkable year for me personally and professionally and I am so grateful to you for your continued support. I wish you and your family a joyous holiday season. I look forward to hearing from you. |
News Houston Center for Photography Fellowship
I have been awarded the Houston Center for Photography 2012 Fellowship for my Elderly Animal project. The fellowship was juried by Christopher Rauchenberg, who is the co-founder and co-curator and board chairman of Blue Sky Gallery and also the co-founder and former president of Photolucida. The HCP will exhibit my Elderly Animals work from April 27-June 16 and provide a $2500 grant to assist with my exhibition costs.
Santa Fe Prize I have been nominated for the Santa Fe Prize for Photography. Nominations for the prize came from a panel consisting of over 100 curators, publishers, educators, and industry experts from the art and photographic communities. Jurying for the prize is still under way. Clarence John Laughlin Award Earlier this fall, I was named a finalist for the Clarence John Laughlin Award by independent curator George Slade. The award was created by the New Orleans Photo Alliance to support the work of a photographer who is creating or has created a significant body of work. Congratulations to award recipient Joni Sternbach and this year's other finalists. |
