February 2011 News
|
Greetings,
I am writing to you from snowy Boston where I am spending the week printing new images from my elderly animals series with help from the talented folks at Panopticon Imaging. I love working with my friend Paul Sneyd and his staff and the results are well worth the trip to Boston. I am excited about the new images for this project and will share them with you in my next newsletter.
In the meantime, I wanted to catch you up on some recent news and tell you about a few upcoming shows. Thanks for reading! I look forward to hearing from you.
Warm Regards, Isa

Recent Press My work is featured on pages 104-105 of the Winter 2011 issue of Zoom Magazine. The issue is devoted to black and white photography and features work by Abelardo Morell, Alexey Titarenko, Hiroshi Watanabe, Arno Minkkinen, Rocky Schenck, Andrea Modica, Elliott Erwitt, and others. I'm thrilled to have my work be in such esteemed company. Zoom is published out of Italy and is distributed through Europe and the United States, and can be found in Borders and Barnes & Noble. My "Thrills & Chills" exhibition catalog was named one of the best photography books of 2010 by Larissa Leclair, curator and director/founder of the Indie Photobook Library. Forrest Old listed me as one of the "Best of the Best" emerging fine art photographers for 2010 on his blog BW Gallerist. He also listed two group shows in which my work appeared as the best exhibits of 2010: "In Review" at Gallery 339 in Philadelphia, PA and "Found" at the John Cleary Gallery in Houston, TX.

Houston Center for Photography Auction I encourage you to browse and bid on prints in the 2011 Houston Center for Photography Auction. I was on the auction committee this year and I have a big soft spot for the HCP, so this event is special to me. I am grateful to the artists and dealers who gave so generously to this event. I recently saw the auction exhibit that is currently up at the HCP and I was moved by the quality and diversity of the work. Please consider adding a print to your collection by supporting this event.
