August 2009 News

Curve

Dear Friends,

I'm sending my August newsletter a bit late because the last few weeks have been consumed with editing and printing new work. Above is one of my favorite images taken last month at Dorney Park in PA. I've added this image along with two new others to the Thrills and Chills section of my web site.

I've also posted on my web site a sneak peak of a new project on elderly animals. The project is still in its early stages and I welcome your feedback and thoughts about these images.

I'm also writing to share with you news of of recent publications featuring my work as well as a flurry of current and upcoming opportunities to see my work.

Thanks for reading! I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm Regards,
Isa

RecentRecent Publications

F-Stop Magazine
"Point Pleasant, NJ #1" was chosen as the cover image for the Summer issue of F-Stop Magazine! In addition, seven of my images appear in the "Group Exhibit" section of the online magazine. The theme for this issue was Amusement, which was an ideal fit for my Thrills and Chills work.

Light Leaks Magazine
"Girl on Tilt A Whirl, Coney Island, NY" appears in the current issue of Light Leaks Magazine as part of their feature on childhood. If you want a copy,  purchase it today. The magazine sells out very quickly, particularly now that it is being sold through Urban Outfitters.

Susan Maasch Fine Art
Susan Maasch Fine Art in Portland Maine is committed to showcasing fine art photography and has devoted a section of their gallery to this medium.
The selection of images in this section rotates frequently, but the gallery has several of my prints in their inventory. If you do not see my work hanging when you visit, please inquire; the staff will be happy to assist you.

Also on rotation in the photography section is work by masters such as Bernice Abbott, Ansel Adams, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Jock Sturges and images by contemporary emerging artists such as Sean Harris, Angela Bacon-Kidwell, and Keliy Anderson Staley. I am delighted to find my work in such good company!

Photo lovers also take note: Susan Maasch Fine Art is located a few doors away from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies (which includes a gallery). It's definitely worth making a trip to Portland, particularly during these warm months.
