July 2009 News
Flying, Topsfield Fair, MA

Dear Friends,

I am writing this e-mail from a hotel in Allentown, PA. I plan on spending the next few days here photographing Dorney Park. Later this month, I will reconnect with my New Jersey roots and photograph amusement parks and boardwalks along the shore....

I am writing to share with you some recent exciting news: my work received two a Prix de la Photographie Paris (Px3) awards.  I also want to share some recent press I've received and invite you to see my work in a few current and upcoming shows.

As always, I close my e-mail by listing links where you can find me elsewhere online, including on Facebook® and Twitter®.

Thanks for reading! I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm Regards,
Isa

Prix
Prix de la Photographie, Paris

My Thrills and Chills series was awarded first and second places in the 2009 Prix de la Photographie, Paris (Px3) in the non-professional Advertising category. I had submitted my work in the non-professional Fine Art and Book Proposal categories, but somehow my entry was awarded in a different category. Because I am an emerging artist, my work fell into the non-professional category according to contest rules.

The competition received over 10,000 submissions from 48 countries. I feel extremely honored and humbled to have my work recognized by the Px3 panel of jurors. My work will be included in the Px3 exhibit at Espace Dupon in Paris, France from July 20-July 25. In addition, five images from the series will be published in the Px3 2009 Book.

The Flat File
My work was featured recently on The Flat File blog for Wallspace Gallery in Seattle, WA. In the article, Wallspace Gallery owner/director Crista Dix writes: "Isa's images of the carny rides, coasters, tilt-awhirls, ferris wheels and swings are loopy, windy breezes of memories. Shot with a Holga, the images are a little soft and hazy, like the memories we all share from our childhood."
