Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior!
As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, individuals of all religions, creeds, races, dispositions and walks of life are reminded to "give thanks" for their blessings and to grow mindful of the needs of others. For American Baptists charged with ministering to less fortunate brothers and sisters in society, God presents opportunities throughout the year to reflect upon and offer praise for the bounty bestowed upon us. Take, for example, "Facilitator Blessed by Training Experience" below. Just as the staff member was blessed by the experience, I hope you, too, will be blessed by the story.

Facilitator blessed by training experience |
When ABHMS co-sponsored ministry training for 26 recent refugee pastors from Burma, the facilitator found herself as blessed as the students. "It was so moving when the pastors shared that their theological training happened outside under a tree because their schools had been destroyed and burned to the ground by the military," she says. |
ABHMS to sponsor activities before, during, after Biennial |
You're invited to participate in ABHMS activities--including a luncheon and volunteer construction projects--before, during and after the American Baptist Churches USA 2011 Biennial in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Check our Web site frequently for schedule updates and listen to a Biennial-related podcast by ABHMS executive director, Dr. Aidsand F. Wright-Riggins III.
