Coming Together in the 21st Century - book coverJudson Press' newest release, Coming Together in the 21st Century: The Bible's Message in an Age of Diversity, offers an in-depth study of multiculturalism and diversity in Scripture. Almost half of this edition, updated and revised for its 15th anniversary of publication, features new material, including contributions from ethnically and culturally diverse contributors like Brenda Salter-McNeil, Richard Twiss, Mimi Haddad and Allan Boesak. Also, the definition of diversity adds gender and class to race, culture and ethnicity. A group reflection and action guide makes this an ideal resource for small group discussion.

The church needs to be seen and heard
Power Connection LogoAt November's black church conference in Chicago, Power Connection: A Call to Greater Works, participants were challenged with new ideas about preaching and teaching. But mostly they came away convinced the church needs to be deliberate about getting involved in the lives of individuals and communities--about standing as Christian witness when it comes to public policy. With worship, workshops and camaraderie, participants found renewal, respite--and joy too.
