Eco-Friendly Meets
Traditional Architecture in Oak Park
Cozy foursquare features Integrity windows and an
outstanding website Not every house gets its own website, but 1135 N. Grove details the
floor plans, includes photo galleries of the construction process, and
describes each and every component that contributed to LEED platinum
certification and much more about this unique home. Why a website? Two green-savvy Chicago homeowners had
something to prove. They wanted to show that reducing the environmental impact
of homes can be decreased without substantially higher building costs. They met
up with builder Coffman and Wicklow, Inc. who had something to prove as well.
"As a restoration contractor and period home builder, one of our goals is to
dispel the conception that a 'green' house means modern architecture." Integrity Wood-Ultrex double hung windows figured prominently in the design and green achievements of this traditional foursquare home. 1135 N. Grove is located in Oak Park, the
Chicago suburb where Frank Lloyd Wright built his home and studio, as well as scores
of his designs. According to the homeowners, green homes like 1135 N. Grove "can
fit into existing neighborhoods and do not have to look like space ships." The
home was featured online in USA Today. |

the familiar I love NY logo. Mr. Glaser is also the designer of a dream window
in the myMarvin project. Among his many accolades, Mr. Glaser can now add the
National Medal of Arts presented by the president at the White House on
February 25, 2010. The myMarvin project draws upon the inspiration of famous

Super Enterprises'
FSC and SFI Chain-of-Custody Certification
On January 11, 2010 Marvin began offering FSC and SFI
certified products. As the distributor in the supply channel and because of our
commitment to a greener future, Super Enterprises has obtained our own
chain-of-custody certification for both FSC and SFI. These two separate
organizations are becoming integral to the growing demand for verified green
building products, with area governments mandating their use. In addition, FSC-certified wood is
required in many LEED-qualified projects. Those involved in the supply of green
building materials must also be certified, maintaining the verified
chain-of-custody. For many of the important facts about FSC and SFI
chain-of-custody certification, such as who needs to be certified, click here.
To locate a certified Marvin products retailer or for
questions about chain-of-custody certification, contact Super Enterprises. To learn about how the Marvin companies are
working towards a greener future, click here.
NOTE: As of publishing, Super Enterprises completed
the audit with flying colors and is awaiting formal certification.
