ATO has updated its SMSF Independent Audit Report.
The new updated audit report must be used by all SMSF approved auditors for all audits conducted from 1July 2009,
regardless of the financial year being audited. Which means that if you going
to date an audit report 1st July 2009 or later then you must use
this new audit report.
Changes to the report are minor, and include:
- citing the introduction of
competency requirements for auditors of SMSFs by professional accounting
associations
- replacing s121 from the
compliance audit component with s126K, following the repealing of the
former section.
Other minor changes are there to improve the wording of the report.
