Diary of a SMSF Trustee
But, some of us, as we sit back and think about our current
SMSF portfolio, a funny chill runs down our spine. We decide not to switch on
the computer today to see blood everywhere and decide to take a walk to the
newsagency.
We open the newspaper and on page 5 read articles of
residential rents going up due to shortage of rental accommodation and then flip
the pages to read that builders are going bust as they cannot sell their
existing stock to the fear of rising interest rates.
We flick the paper to the last page and read an article on last
3 property boom cycles of 10 years - from the corner of eye, we quickly glance
at the 2008 calendar hanging on the wall - read the symptoms on how to smell
the next boom. We put aside the newspaper and phone our real estate agent and
explain him what SMSF means and it has cash and cannot / does not want to
borrow!
We ask ourselves, is rental return of 5% - 6% with a
possibility of future growth, better than ASX mercury like this summer.
With that
consideration, we switch on our computer to goggle for "Property Instalment
Warrants legislated in September 2007 in SMSF".
Have a nice 2008! and expect from us a weekly e-newsletters with loads of information, do not be shy to subscribe your friends ..... on our website www.trustdeed.com.au
