Greetings!

We just finished another exciting BellaVita 10-day program, and witnessed more healing miracles from the Lord. Alice came walking with a cane, and left not using it. She got off both blood pressure and diabetes medication in only two days. Her blood pressure was 104/62 the day she left without medication. Her blood sugar hit a low of 77 on day three. In addition, the pain in her hip was gone which she had lived with for years. She was praising God because her asthma medications were reduced as well. Yes, God can heal any disease when you exercise faith in Him!

Terri was another miracle story. She came to BellaVita with years of MS. I watched her ride a bike 12 miles on two occasions while here, and I walked with her four miles on the ninth day. Terri used two walking sticks when exercising at BellaVIta, but had to use only one stick for the four mile walk we took together the day before she left. She improved dramatically overall. We were amazed at God's healing power seen in Terri. Terri also learned the herbal Nerve Formula had a more positive effect on her muscles than the MS drug her doctor had prescribed. She kept her first Sabbath at BellaVita, and left with the Conflict of the Ages series by Ellen G. White and other books.

I love seeing people heal at BellaVita. Beth suffered with years of migraines that disappeared in just two days. 26-year-old Kellen lost 6 pounds, and quit chewing tobacco. He had one craving the whole time here. Doug and Jenny felt so much better. They had an increase in energy, and appreciated the spiritual time with the Lord. The doctor's found nothing wrong with her, but the pain continued. She was very happy when her years of pain left after the first day at BV! God gave us the laws of health, and when we obey them we can expect His healing power to bless our lives. Every day we need to obey the Natural Doctors of nutrition, exercise, fresh air, sunshine, temperance, pure water, rest, and trust in Divine Power. These are the true remedies.

"Christ is the true head of the medical profession. The chief Physician, He is at the side of every God-fearing practitioner who works to relieve human suffering. While the physician uses nature's remedies for physical disease, he should point his patients to Him who can relieve the maladies of both the soul and the body. That which physicians can only aid in doing, Christ accomplishes. They endeavor to assist nature's work of healing; Christ Himself is the healer. The physician seeks to preserve life; Christ imparts life." MH 111. Christ is the Great Center of the BellaVita Program.

At BellaVita we serve only live, organic juices and food. We also eliminate all grains because many people are allergic and do not know it. I am gluten intolerant and know the side-effects. I was diagnosed by a Natural Doctor, years ago, with MS. I quit all gluten and all the symptoms left. We see many symptoms clear up when people get off all gluten and eat only the live fruits, vegetables, sprouts, nuts, and seeds. Brenda, who helped Charmaine with the live food preparation and demonstrations said: "One almond can grow into a tree. Imagine the energy in that seed." For the ten days, the guests practice all the laws of health, and receive a diploma at the end of the course for doing so. I tell them they can expect healing miracles when they cleanse the elimination organs of the body, eat only live foods and juices, take the healing herbal drinks, practice the laws of health, and trust in the Lord! When you combine everything together at once, the miracles happen.

Food is good medicine. The National Cancer Society is researching the role that plants and their phytochemicals play in the prevention of cancer. Prestigious Universities and Medical Schools, such as Harvard, Cornell, and John Hopkins are researching and publishing findings regarding their discoveries on the effectiveness of plant chemicals in treating chronic disease. Dr. Mitchell Gaynor also has learned evidenced by his statement: "We've seen the future and the future is food." Now imagine juices several times a day providing the phytochemicals in a concentrated form for easy digestion and assimilation into their cells where life begins. The guests love them.

Diet, nutrition, and lifestyle are the wave of the future for beating degenerative disease of all types. Numerous health institutes of Seventh-day Adventists are reputed for reversing chronic disease. Medically supervised lifestyle programs at Weimar, Black Hills, BellaVIta Lifestyle Center, and Wildwood have, for years, successfully reversed diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension in patients. Categories of diseases respond when toxins are eliminated from the body and the cells are regenerated with living food. The Gerson program only uses whole plant foods like the SDA institutes, but they recognize that an ailing body can be regenerated and brought back to health by also flooding the patient with raw juices from organically grown produce. BellaVita differs from the other institutions in that we serve no grains, detoxify and cleanse the guests elimination organs, we use all organic foods, and provide wildcrafted herbs. Some of these institutions do not serve live juices but on occasion.

The underlining nutritional concept of Dr. Max Gerson was that an oxygen deficiency in the blood contributes to degenerative diseases and treatment must invariably bring a doubling of circulatory oxygenation for the patient to heal. The therapy also stimulates metabolism, eliminates toxins, restores sluggish waste-removal functions of the liver and kidneys. "Thus, by using liberal amounts of high-quality nutrition (8 oz. of fresh, organic raw juice 13 times a day on the hour) in conjunction with natural medications and enemas the body can regenerate and heal even advanced cancer. "Thus by using liberal amounts, increasing a patient's oxygen availability, reinvigorating the entire organism with a well-functioning metabolism, and improving cellular detoxification, one's suppressed immune system, imperfect physiology, muddled mind, and dysfunctional brain and other essential organs are encouraged to regenerate toward homeostasis once again." The Gerson Therapy, p. 2.

Hippocrates said: "Leave the drugs in the chemist's pots if you can heal your patients with food." Whole food and juicing programs like Gerson's make sure the patient's body is also flooded with key nutrients in nature's most perfect form for absorption. Elevated levels of minerals, enzymes, beta carotene, Vitamins A and C, and other antioxidants from produce that is free from all pesticide and fungicides are fed to the patients. Dr. Gerson believed that patients suffered from a severe imbalance of sodium and potassium. Potassium-rich juices, with added potassium iodine and compounds, are fed to the patient's to reestablish sodium/potassium balance.

Science and research have substantiated that plant substances called phytochemicals play a significant role in defending our cells against free radicals and stimulating our immune system. Sulforaphane, a chemical in cruciferous vegetables, boosts the body's production of phase II enzymes that cart off dangerous residues of procarcinogens, those cancer-causing precursors capable of damaging cellular DNA. Sulforaphane has been shown to have anti-tumor activity. Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, and kale all contain sulforaphane.

Phase II enzymes are important antioxidants produced in the body and sulforaphane turns them on. Phase II enzymes detoxify carcinogens and turn them into water-soluble substances that can be excreted by the cell. According to Dr. Dr. Bob Arnot, "Scientists have long known that all phase II enzymes are important and that the loss of even one can raise your risk of cancer.

GSTP1, or glutathione S-transferase, is a Phase II enzyme that is universally absent in prostate cancer cells but present in normal prostate tissue. GSTP1 is very good at detoxifying carcinogens. However, prostate cancers, breast cancers, and liver cancers all seem to inactivate GSTP1, says William Nelson, M.D., Ph.D., oncologist and antioxidation expert at John Hopkins University.

There is a lot of evidence that you can turn on Phase II enzymes All indications are that sulforaphane, a compound found in broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables, is the most potent compound for turning on Phase II enzymes. Medical experts believe that if we can raise the level of Phase II enzymes, you would establish a resistance to cancer.
