John the Baptist was a reformer who was to prepare people for the coming of the Lord. "For years the Lord has been calling the attention of His people to health reform. This is one of the great branches of the work of preparation for the coming of the Son of man. John the Baptist went forth in the spirit and power of Elijah, to prepare the way of the Lord, and to turn the people to the wisdom of the just. He was a representative of those living in these last days, to whom God has entrusted sacred truths to present before the people, to prepare the way for the second appearing of Christ. John wasa reformer." CD 70.

     At Modern Manna, we are working very hard to reach as many people as possible with the health message and the gospel. As anti-typical John the Baptists, we are to prepare people for the coming of the Lord. And to whom did John preach to? He preached to his own people--the Jews, for they were not ready for the coming of the Lord.

      As Charmaine and I travel throughout the country preaching to Adventists and others, we find that many of our own people are eating a poor diet and meat. In fact, we are speaking at churches that serve meat at the potlucks after, even after we have spoken on the dangers of animal products at the divine service.

      One of the most rejected statements in the SOP is the following: "Greater reforms should be seen among the people who claim to be looking for the soon appearing of Christ. Health reform is to do among our people a work which it has not yet done. There are those who ought to be awake to the danger of meat eating, who are still eating the flesh of animals, thus endangering the physical, mental, and spiritual health. Many who are now only half converted on the question of meat eating will go from God's people to walk no more with them." CD 382. I am also encountering church members who are eating pork products and drinking wine. Daniel refused the meat and wine from the King of Babylon, and stood fast to the diet test in Daniel Chapter 1. John the Baptist was not to drink strong drink or wine as recorded in Luke Chapter 1:15, 16: "For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. "And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God." This is the Elijah Message which is so desperately needed in this day and age when gluttony is the prevailing sin once again! Our prayer is that we will turn many backslidden SDAs to the Lord, and embrace the beautiful health message God gave to our church. Please do not think my words are too hard, for the Bible warns: "For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.  
      "For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one [tree] in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD." Isaiah 66:15-17.  

      Charmaine and I have decided to marry and join our ministries together. Charmaine is an 8-year cancer survivor, and a graduate of the renowned Living Light Culinary Arts Institute. She is Executive Raw Chef and Director of BellaVegan School of Raw Cuisine. She is trained as a Food for Life Nutrition & Cooking Class Instructor for The Cancer Project through Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a Stanford Healthy Lifestyle Program� Facilitator through Stanford Prevention Research Center, and a CHIP� Facilitator. She also holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a degree in Sports Science with an emphasis in sports Medicine. Charmaine is a beautiful woman with a strong passion for teaching people a better lifestyle to prevent and cure disease.      Last Month, we had an amazing time at Templeton SDA Church, the home of Ivor and Atonte Myers. The 3-day health seminar and raw food presentations were well attended, and 12 people requested Bible studies as a result of the meetings. We debuted the new movie BellaVita--A Beautiful Life (You can watch the 2-minute trailer by clicking on the link below). August 4-6, we went to ASI with our new beautiful and colorful 7' X 10' tradeshow booth. Charmaine, the children, and I met many wonderful people and gave away free DVDs and Modern Manna's new brochure on the work of the ministry. I especially liked Ted Wilson's sermon on Sabbath calling SDAs to engage in missionary outreach. He did not mince words and appealed to SDAs to shun rock music in the church and leave it in the saloons where it belongs.
