Dear Danny,

I have sent up many prayers on what to write about on my experience at BellaVita, and the time has come just to put into words what is in my heart.
My life took a dramatic change two days before Christmas 2005, when I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 53. My husband and I were shocked to say Debbie

the least. I immediately began an exhaustive search of my alternatives, and, because I'm an RN, I wanted to be sure I found out as much as I could about my type of cancer and what treatment options were available. Within days I had read T. Colin Campbell's book, The China Study, and immediately made the change to a vegan diet. I read as much material as I could get my hands on and implemented many additional changes in my lifestyle including eliminating all processed foods like white flour, sugar, excitotoxins, fluoride, etc. I also began searching for a Lifestyle and Detox Center and did find several out-of-state, but for reasons I didn't understand, it just never worked out for me to attend them and I was very disappointed.

    The four years since my diagnosis have not been an easy road for me or my family. Initially, I spent many hours in prayer trying to learn the direction that God wanted me to go. I was led to consult with several top Seventh-day Adventist physicians whose names are well known and who both have their own Wellness Centers, one very similar to BellaVita. I had prayed before each consultation and asked for God's wisdom in knowing what to do. When both of them, without hesitation, said that I needed to have radiation, surgery, and chemo before even considering going for any alternative treatments, I was very surprised especially since one of them does alternative cancer therapies.  But I decided that conventional treatment was what I was supposed to do so most of 2006 was devoted to 6 weeks of radiation, 2 major surgeries, and 4 months of chemo, followed by the long months (and actually several years) of trying to recover from the devastating effects of these burn, cut, and poison therapies.
    Ironically, BellaVita is just 1½ hours from my home and I have been a Seventh-day Adventist all my life, but I didn't hear a thing about Danny's program until almost 4 years after my diagnosis. I was attending some raw vegan cooking classes in San Jose in September 2009, and someone in the class had just attended BellaVita two months prior. This time I heard God speaking to me and telling me that this is where I was supposed to go so I signed up for the next upcoming November session.
    My expectations for my Nov/Dec 2009 stay at BellaVita were to detoxify my body of all the drugs/toxins/poisons especially from the cancer treatments and to renew my energy levels. But right from the beginning, I knew God had me there for much more important reasons. With each lecture from Danny, it became very clear why God had not opened the doors earlier for those other Lifestyle centers.  God knew that I would be able to make all the dietary changes without a problem and He had already led me to so many of the reading materials that Danny had on his shelves. But in God's wisdom He knew what would suffer most during these 4 years was my spiritual connection with Him. During my morning and evening personal devotion times at Bella Vita, I read through "Steps to Christ" and then "Christ's Object Lessons", both written by Ellen G. White. I have read both of these books numerous times, so I wondered why I had chosen these books to take with me.  To my amazement, whatever I had just read is exactly what Danny would talk about in his next lecture!  I knew God was speaking directly to me and that emotional healing and, more importantly, my spiritual healing was what I needed most.

I wish I could list all the things I learned from Danny's lectures but the list would be very long. I learned that emotional issues like, anger, resentment, distrust, unforgiveness, all affect the mind and will interfere with the healing process. I also learned that my connection with Jesus needed to be mended. This time at BellaVita began a change in my whole attitude and outlook on life. I now have a peace and contentment that is indescribable! I have been able to forgive things that weighed heavily on my heart for years. We serve an awesome God who knows our every need, and I came away from BellaVita with much more than I could have ever hoped for.

Some of the physical improvements I experienced with the BellaVita program include: increased energy and mental alertness, the neuropathy in both feet that I have had for over 3 years from the chemotherapy is totally gone, improved stamina with exercise, appetite control and weight loss, memory improvement, and improved sleep. I feel so much better!

If I could attend BellaVita every two months it wouldn't be often enough. I was honored when Danny asked me to come back as a staff member for the January 2010 10-day session and I received an even deeper blessing being part of the staff and serving others. It is my hope and prayer that I can come back and help at as many of the sessions as possible. It was incredible "working" with Danny, Daniel, and Robyn and I am grateful to have been asked to be a part of such an awesome ministry!

Thank you, Danny, for listening to God's leading and for your untiring devotion to His ministry. Your passion and love for souls for God's kingdom is inspiring and catching. Also, thank you for trusting me enough to serve as one of your staff.
My advice to anyone considering attending BellaVita is: Don't put off any longer experiencing BellaVita for yourself. I am so thankful that I was led to BellaVita...because, with God, I have truly found a Beautiful Life!
