The Power of Green Juices

Dear Friends:
Have you ever thought about the 100% grass diet that King Nebuchadnezzar ate for seven years, as recorded in Daniel 4:32?
In Daniel Chapter 1, Daniel and his three friends refused the diet of the King's meat and wine and chose to eat a whole plant food diet, a vegan diet, and to drink pure water. This implies, since it was the king's meat and drink that King Nebuchadnezzar must have been eating a high fat, high protein diet of dead animals most of his life. It is fair to assume that the King must have been very toxic and perhaps even constipated from time to time from the fiberless feasts. Certainly he increased his risk of getting colon cancer.
Besides being unhealthy, the king also needed to be humbled. After all, he was the King of Babylon and was worshipped like a god. The Bible tells us that he had a pride problem. Daniel chapter 3 says he decreed that all the guests at the dedication of the golden image must bow down to the image of gold, representing Nebuchadnezzar and Babylon. Anyone who refused to bow in homage to the king would be cast into a fiery furnace. The three Hebrews who refused to bow to the human potentate were cast in the furnace which was heated seven times hotter than usual. In the furnace, the king saw a fourth man who he likens to the Son of God, Jesus, even though he had only three men thrown into the furnace. Miraculously not a hair on their heads was harmed, and the converted king blesses the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and decrees that the whole nation recognize the true God.
In Daniel Chapter 4, we learn that Nebuchadnezzar backslid and was, once again, exalted as a god. Now, the true God of the Hebrews was going to humble the proud monarch by driving him from men to eat grass with the beasts of the field. The prophet Daniel said: "Thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times [years] shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will." Dan. 4:32.
It is a very interesting story when you consider that King Nebuchadnezzar lived on only grass for seven years. The question may be asked: "Is that possible?
Let's take a look at one grass called wheatgrass. Wheatgrass is very similar to barley grass and both are some of the richest sources of Vitamin A, B's, and C. They are very rich in minerals also. They are used as a body cleanser, rebuilder and neutralizer of toxins. These grasses can even protects us from radiation. According to Ann Wigmore, 1 lb. of wheatgrass is equal in nutritional value to nearly 25 pounds of the choicest vegetables. She also reported that wheatgrass therapy helps to eliminate cancerous growths and helped with many other disorders including mental disorders. Very effective in reversing anemia. Wheatgrass is rich in chlorophyll--concentrated sun power. It is one of the greatest healers for conditions inside and outside the body. A blood purifier and builder. Increases the red cell count, purifies the liver, improves blood sugar problems, and helps sores heal faster. It acts like a detergent in the bloodstream.
This is why I use barley grass at every BellaVita. I give the guests at least three tablespoons a day of the chlorophyll-rich beverage, along with many other fresh, organic juices.
Fresh juices are healers and blood builders. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and enzymes which are the sparks of life. Almost 100% of the vital nutrients are assimilated into the bloodstream and cells without putting strain on the digestive system. Juices speed the body's recovery from disease through rejuvenation. They are alkaline foods, and very beneficial for balancing pH since over-acidity is a problem with so many Americans today. Acid reflux is a generational disease and is getting more prevalent. The GI tract is taking a beating with all the acid-forming foods like meat, dairy, alcohol, coffee, and sugar. Juices provide generous amounts of minerals like calcium, potassium, silicon which are easy to be assimilated because they are in liquid form and, thus, restore mineral balance in the cells. They are alkaline-forming foods and can restore pH balance. Raw juices contain nature's medicines-phytochemicals, hormones and antibiotics. String Beans and Jerusalem artichokes contain insulin-like substances for diabetics. Cucumbers and onions contain hormone-like substances needed by the cells of the pancreas to in order to produce insulin. Garlic, onion, and radish contain natural antibiotics. Even the coloring of the plants--the reds, yellows, greens and blues contain phytochemicals that prevent and fight cancers. Apple juice contain pectin which sweeps the intestines of toxins and binds with heavy metals. Beet juice is high in minerals, cleansing and building to the blood, and detoxifies the liver. Cabbage juice is rich in Vitamin C and purifying sulfur. Contains vitamin U for stomach ulcers. Celery juice, with its mineral content, can sooth the nervous system and neutralize acid with its organic sodium. Dandelion greens, juiced, stimulate bile flow and helps to cleanse the gallbladder and liver. Kale juice is rich in calcium, iron, and cleansing chlorophyll as well as beta carotene. Parsley juice is rich in vitamins, minerals, beta carotene, and chlorophyll and is an excellent blood cleanser and has diuretic properties.
All green juices are rich in antioxidants and very beneficial for healing the body and building the blood. They are great for anemia and low blood counts.
When you consider the healing power of green, it is no wonder God chose that diet to humble the king while preserving his life. But, when you consider the detoxifying power of green grass, it is not surprising that after the seven years of eating 100% green grass that King Nebuchadnezzar's reason and understanding returned and he praised and extolled and honored the "King of heaven." Dan. 4:27. After all, Ann Wigmore said it would help mental disorders! I hope to see him in heaven.

Grace
The First Step to Salvation |
Greetings!
I want to share a true story about God's amazing grace that led me to salvation in Christ. It all started when Sophia Nahorney, one of my eighty-year-old employees at Lodi Health Food Store, handed me a book called "My Son Dan," written by the late Dan Collins. Dan at the time was an evangelist for Amazing Facts working with Joe Crews. My Son Dan was the story of a wild, red-headed young man who grew up racing fast cars and drinking lots of booze. Not only did we share the same name, but we also shared much of the same experience. Miraculously, the book was an eye-opener for me, and the Holy Spirit used it to prick my sinful heart and awaken my conscience to change my wayward lifestyle.
A few days after Sophia gave me the book, Dan walked into my health store and invited me to his revival meetings at the Fairmont Church. Being a Catholic since I was a baby, I had never attended a Protestant Church meeting in my life. However, I felt something supernatural was convicting me to attend Dan's meeting that evening. When I arrived, I found the church filled with people, so I snuck into a pew off to the side. I soon found myself engrossed in Dan's message calling sinners to the cross of Calvary and to Jesus as the only One who can take away the sins of the world. I was shocked when he paused for a minute and said, "Danny, I see you in the audience."
Dan eased my tension by not pointing me out to the crowd of 500 or more, but said that all of Lodi would know me soon enough. How could that be? I was new to Lodi and knew very few people in the city. Was something going to happen of which I was not aware? Was this some kind of prophecy?
I returned the next night to hear another call from Dan and the Holy Spirit for sinners to come to the foot of the cross. When Dan finished preaching, he gave an altar call for baptism and many convicted people responded to the call. I was strongly convicted myself to go forward, but hesitated because I wanted my wife to go with me. Kay, Dan's wife, saw me struggling and rushed over to where I was standing. "I want to be baptized," I told Kay. "I feel a strong conviction to leave my old life of sin and start afresh, but this is all new to me."
Once the meeting ended, Kay took me to Dan, who was now talking to three other pastors, and told him that I wanted to be baptized. I will never forget his answer. "You are not ready, Danny," he said, "but I will baptize you and your wife together some day." Was this another prophecy? Dan's wisdom and experience told him that I was engrossed in the moment. He knew that in my heart I had not separated from my worldly ways and time proved he was he right! I soon learned that without the power of God, it is impossible to escape from the pit of sin. I must say that I was so ignorant of the gospel that I thought baptism by immersion was going to somehow cleanse me from my sins.
A few months later, I was right back to my old ways of drinking and partying. I had not learned in Catholic schools, which I attended for 12 years, that only God's grace could change me into a new creature. I also was never taught by the nuns and the priests that God's amazing grace would work on me long before I even realized it.
E.G. White wrote: "We did not seek after it, but it was sent in search of us. God rejoices to bestow this grace upon every one who hungers for it." (God's Amazing Grace, p. 10). She also wrote: "His grace alone can quicken the lifeless faculties of the soul, and attract it to God, to holiness. ... When the heart yields to the influence of the Spirit of God the conscience will be quickened, and the sinner will discern something of the depth and sacredness of God's holy law, the foundation of His government in heaven and on earth. The 'Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world,' illumines the secret chambers of the soul, and the hidden things of darkness are made manifest. John 1:9. Conviction takes hold upon the mind and heart. The sinner has a sense of the righteousness of Jehovah and feels the terror of appearing, in his own guilt and uncleanness, before the Searcher of hearts. He sees the love of God, the beauty of holiness, the joy of purity; he longs to be cleansed and to be restored to communion with Heaven." Steps to Christ, p. 24. Friends, God grace was working to save me even before I was led to repentance. Now I began to understand the Scripture that says God's goodness grace leads us to repentance. (See Romans 2:4). At the revival meetings at Fairmont Church, Dan Collins was calling sinners to look to the Jesus uplifted on the cross of Calvary. The gospel message was stirring my soul because "Jesus had said, 'I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.' John 12:32. Christ must be revealed to the sinner as the Saviour dying for the sins of the world; and as we behold the Lamb of God upon the cross of Calvary, the mystery of redemption begins to unfold to our minds and the goodness of God leads us to repentance. In dying for sinners, Christ manifested a love that is incomprehensible; and as the sinner beholds this love, it softens the heart, impresses the mind, and inspires contrition in the soul." Ibid., p. 26. As I saw the righteous Son of God dying on the cross for Danny, the Holy Spirit quickened my mind and I understood that my sins had killed Him. I loathed my sins at that moment and repented. There were times that I nearly vomited as I recalled the sins of my past. As Dan continued preaching, my heart cried out for purity, and the washing I desired was only available through the blood of Jesus and His word. Baptism is the public declaration that I have found salvation in the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
"Here is a point on which many may err, and hence they fail of receiving the help that Christ desires to give them. They think that they cannot come to Christ unless they first repent, and that repentance prepares for the forgiveness of their sins. It is true that repentance does precede the forgiveness of sins; for it is only the broken and contrite heart that will feel the need of a Saviour. But must the sinner wait till he has repented before he can come to Jesus? Is repentance to be made an obstacle between the sinner and the Saviour?
"The Bible does not teach that the sinner must repent before he can heed the invitation of Christ, 'Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.' Matthew 11:28. It is the virtue that goes forth from Christ, that leads to genuine repentance. Peter made the matter clear in his statement to the Israelites when he said, 'Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.' Acts 5:31. We can no more repent without the Spirit of Christ to awaken the conscience than we can be pardoned without Christ." Ibid., p. 26. "Christ is the source of every right impulse. He is the only one that can implant in the heart enmity against sin. Every desire for truth and purity, every conviction of our own sinfulness, is an evidence that His Spirit is moving upon our hearts." Ibid.
"Many are confused as to what constitutes the first steps in the work of salvation. Repentance is thought to be a work the sinner must do for himself in order that he may come to Christ. They think that the sinner must procure for himself a fitness in order to obtain the blessing of God's grace. But while it is true that repentance must precede forgiveness, for it is only the broken and contrite heart that is acceptable to God, yet the sinner cannot bring himself to repentance, or prepare himself to come to Christ. Except the sinner repent, he cannot be forgiven; but the question to be decided is as to whether repentance is the work of the sinner or the gift of Christ. Must the sinner wait until he is filled with remorse for his sin before he can come to Christ? The very first step to Christ is taken through the drawing of the Spirit of God; as man responds to this drawing, he advances toward Christ in order that he may repent. The sinner is represented as a lost sheep, and a lost sheep never returns to the fold unless he is sought after and brought back to the fold by the shepherd. No man of himself can repent, and make himself worthy of the blessing of justification. The Lord Jesus is constantly seeking to impress the sinner's mind and attract him to behold Himself, the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world. We cannot take a step toward spiritual life save as Jesus draws and strengthens the soul, and leads us to experience that repentance which needeth not to be repented of.
"When before the high priests and Sadducees, Peter clearly presented the fact that repentance is the gift of God. Speaking of Christ, he said, 'Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins' (Acts 5:31). Repentance is no less the gift of God than are pardon and justification, and it cannot be experienced except as it is given to the soul by Christ. If we are drawn to Christ, it is through His power and virtue. The grace of contrition comes through Him, and from Him comes justification." Revival and Beyond, pp. 20, 21.
I praised the Lord because a year and a half after the meetings in Lodi, Dan Collins drove to Lodi to baptize my wife and I together at English Oaks Church in Lodi. Even though I returned to my sinful life a few weeks after Dan's meetings at Fairmont Church, the Holy Spirit never gave up on me, but continued to impress me of God's love and His amazing grace. He constantly sought me out and impressed my sinful mind of my need for the Saviour to heal me. Remember, Dan had said all of Lodi would know me soon enough, and with the baptism two of his prophecies about my life had come true. The goodness and grace of God had led me to the next steps to salvation--repentance and confession of my sins of the past and to the power to walk in newness of life! Someday, I hope to share Dan's third prophecy with you. In the meantime, remember that His "grace is sufficient for thee." 2 Cor. 12:9. |
