Personal Message
Friends, first I want to thank all of you for your Emails, letters, and cards of encouragement. They are very much appreciated. It is comforting to know I have friends and supporters all around the world.
Now, I want to draw your attention to a few Scriptures that you might know and have read many times. The Scriptures say: "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." 1 Corinthians 10:11, 12.
These verses teach us that God uses examples in the Old Testament to teach His people living in the end of time not to make the same mistakes. We have the examples plainly revealed in Scripture not to follow in the same paths as Israel of old and fall into the same apostasy.
Specifically in this chapter, Paul is referring to the time when the people of God were wandering in the wilderness. Here they started lusting "after evil things" and murmuring and complaining against the Lord. Do you know what they were lusting for, and why they were murmuring and complaining against God? The answer is found in Numbers 11.
In this chapter, the Bible tells us that the mixed multitude and the children of Israel "fell a lusting" and "wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?" It further points out that they were complaining about the manna, or vegetarian diet, that God rained from heaven as He was trying to lead them into the Promise Land!
"But now our soul [is] dried away: [there is] nothing at all, beside this manna, [before] our eyes. And the manna [was] as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium [golden]. [And] the people went about, and gathered [it], and ground [it] in mills, or beat [it] in a mortar, and baked [it] in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
"And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it. Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased." Numbers 11:6-10.
What have we learned from this lesson so far? Evidently, the Israelites were lusting after a flesh-food diet and complaining about the vegetarian diet God had provided to keep them healthy and disease-free. To the contrary, they murmered and complained and wanted meat.
Psalms 78:24-31 records what happened to those that complained about the Lord's provisions or diet that He deemed best. "And [He] had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. Man did eat angels' food: He sent them meat to the full.
"He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind. He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea: And he let [it] fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations. So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;
"They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat [was] yet in their mouths, The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen [men] of Israel. For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works."
Are God's people repeating the same mistake of Ancient Israel - lusting after the Big Macs, the Whoppers and cheese, the dead carcasses of animals that are, often times, too sick to walk? Are we murmuring against the diet God has chosen for us as recorded in Genesis 1:29 - a whole plant food, vegetarian diet, free from all animal products, just like Israelites of old? If God were to slay those who are gluttounous today, according to governmaent statistics, two-thirds of Americans would have eaten their way to the grave!
Once again, God is trying to lead His people into the Promise Land. But, this time it is the heavenly Canaan where He will not be serving fried chicken or beef or turkey burgers on the menu. That is for certain, for the Bible assures us "there shall be no more death." (See Revelation 21:4).

Greetings!
It is my prayer that you will be encouraged during these difficult economic times and remain steadfast in your faith. With the results of the recent presidential election, it is also my prayer that presidential elect Barak Hussein Obama, the first African American president, brings healing to the wound of descrimination that has plagued this country for many years.
On the other hand, as I watched and listened to his acceptance speech, I especially noticing the reaction of the huge crowd of Americans from all races and creeds that had gathered in Chicago, to honor him. I have never seen such an emotional response for a presidential candidate. I was awed by the tears, the chanting, and the devotion-like praise for Obama. In light of the fact that some refer to him as the "Messiah", only time will tell if Obama's promise of change for America will bring a further healing of the deadly wound that leads "all the world to wonder after the beast" as foretold in Revelation 13:3?
If that were to happen, are you prepared for a future when the government forbids you to worship according to the dictates of your conscience? And are you ready for a future that the Bible describes as a time when those who keep the commandments of God will face imprisonment, fines, and even death. (See Revelation 13:3, 8, 11, 12, 15).
The message is to STABILIZE AND SPIRITUALIZE your lives through increased daily prayer, Bible study, and worship. There is no time to lose! Now is the time to prepare and surrender your heart fully to Jesus. Now is the time for the church to take action and go into the highways and the byways and share the message of health and the gospel. Now is the time to help the sick and the suffering using God-given remedies instead of pharmaceutical drugs. Now is the time, because "The work which the church has failed to do in a time of peace and prosperity, she will have to do in a terrible crisis, under most discouraging, forbidding circumstances." Evangelism, p. 31. |

A Call to Medical Evangelism - Part 2
When you understand "the medical missionary work is to be a great entering wedge, whereby the diseased soul may be reached (see Counsels on Health, p. 535)," you may wonder why more Christians are not following this wise and timely counsel.
"The evangelization of the world is the work that God has given to those who go forth in His name. They are to be colaborers with Christ, revealing to those ready to perish His tender, pitying love. God calls for thousands to go to work for Him, not by preaching to those who know the truth, going over and over the same ground, but by warning those who have never heard the last message of mercy. Work with a heart filled with an earnest longing for souls. Do medical missionary work. Thus you will gain access to the hearts of the people. The way will be prepared for more decided proclamation of the truth. You will find that relieving their physical suffering gives an opportunity to minister to their spiritual needs."
Friends, for 25 years I have known the medical missionary work to be the "great entering wedge" to reach the hearts of the people. That is why Modern Manna hosted 10 years of Health and Healing Crusades in an effort to teach people from all walks of life and religious denominations the message of health and the gospel; Why we produced Healthline radio show and aired it all over the country for 12 years; Why we opened a vegetarian restaraunt in Lodi and served healthy, vegan food to the residents; Why we conducted health and vegetarian cooking classes at the colleges, schools and churches and reached both the young and the old, and baptised some of them; Why we held evangelistic meetings in far away places like Africa and started a park church: Why we opened BellaVita Lifestyle Center and have guests come from all over the world; And why we recorded 14 new television shows called Adventures in Health that will be airing soon, via satelite, to two-thirds of the world through David Gates' ministry. Why? To warn "those who have never heard the last message of mercy".
I have witnessed, many times, when ministering to the sick, that if Jesus is presented as the True Healer, and His natural remedies from the earth as His true medicines, the hearts and minds of the people will open wide for the entrance of other Bible truths. I call the ministry of healing "The Ministry of Compassion." I believe there will be many, many souls in the kingdom, because they were reached through God's medical missionaries. The true health work is God's blueprint for reaching souls. It is Christ's ministry, and the work of healing the sick and preaching the gospel of the kingdom are to blend. (See Matthew 4:23-25).
The health work is called the entering wedge because it gets into the crack of the heart when nothing else can fit, and widens the entrance for the Word of God and other truths, even the Three Angels' Messges of Revelation 14. Now you may better understand my passion for the health message and medical missionary work, and using them, just as God intended them to be used, as the "great entering wedge." Especially at a time when the churches of the land continue to fail in their efforts to increase the numbers of their congregations by giving the sleeping people the junk food and entertainment of Babylon, thus feeding the carnal desires of their hearts! Oh, yes, the drums, dancing, and noise are here! Please, remember the music played right before the Isrealites were commanded to bow down to the image of gold in Babylon in Daniel Chapter 2! What the church desperately needs today is not the entertainment of Hollywood, but the Word of God!
Let me now share with you an incredible story that happened to me this past week. I had been in deep prayer asking God whether I should cancel the November BellaVita Lifestyle Program due to low enrollment for that session. I had only two people signed up for our ten-day therapeutic cleansing program as of Tuesday last week. I figured the economy was taking its toll as reported by the Labor Department Friday, November 7: "The nation's employers cut 240,000 jobs in October, hurtling the U.S. unemployment rate to a 14-year high of 6.5 percent. The market had expected employers to cut 200,000 jobs and for the unemployment rate to rise 6.3 percent." Speaking of the stock market, many people have lost 35 to 40 percent of their retirement funds in the stock market, and retirement for many of them may have to be postponed for years.
Even though we had only two people registered for the November 11-20 program, my son Daniel, one of my an employees named Ruth, and I refused to get discouraged and give up. We continued to plead with God in prayer, trusting He would honor our faith and send more guests for the session. After all, we had His assurance that the medical missionary work will go forward, especially since it is so desperately needed at this late hour of earth's history.
I reasoned that God had given me BellaVita for His end-time work. He had provided the funds to build the new wing, the fitness room, the treatment room, and to remodel the facility on the beautifully landscaped grounds located in a peaceful country setting with its 80 fruit trees, the vineyards, the river, and all the flowers.
I used to preach sermons about my vision of a health sanitarium in the country with its beautiful surroundings before BellaVita was ever built. I was confident the health retreat would become a reality one day, because God had given us the following counsel many years ago: "When a sanitarium is established in the country, the sick can breathe the pure air of heaven. As they walk among the flowers and trees, joy and gladness fill their hearts. It is as if the smile of God were upon them, as they look upon the beautiful things He has created to bring joy to their sad hearts. Life in the open air is good for body and mind. It is God's medicine for the restoration of health. Pure air, good water, sunshine, beautiful surroundings - these are His means for restoring the sick to health in natural ways. The fact that in the country all these advantages can be obtained is a powerful incentive to the establishment of a sanitarium in the country. There the institution can be surrounded by flowers and trees, orchards and vineyards. The effect of such surroundings is as it were an elixir of life." MM 232, 233.
We continued to persevere in prayer, claiming God's promises, and refusing to become discouraged as the devil was trying to gain the victory over us. Then on Wednesday the blessings started to come. The phone started ringing and people were asking to register for the November session that was starting in just a few days. One after another, the callers said that God was directing them to BellaVita, as if it were a divine appointment. Praise the Lord! By Friday we had eight guests instead of just two, and a ninth person chose to move to the January 11-20 program instead. In January, a doctor plans to come to BellaVita and learn about God's Health program and cleansing.
Miraculously, and in such short notice, the chef, the sacrificing workers, my sanctified son Daniel, the cleaning lady, the masseuse, and the hundreds of pounds of organic carrots, Gala apples, and chlorophyl-rich vegetables were all ready to go to work for the healing of the people. And do you think all this effort and dedication to God's healing plan will go unnoticed by our Creator? Of course not! He told us to do the medical missionary work many years ago, and He will be right there with us and His angels to sustain us in our effort.
"In your care of the sick, act tenderly, kindly, faithfully, that you may have a converting influence upon them. You have need of the grace of Christ in order to properly represent the service of Christ. And as you present the grace of truth in true disinterested service, angels will be present to sustain you. The Comforter will be with you to fulfill the promise of the Saviour, "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Medical Ministry, p. 196
In conclusion, there has been more than a few times in doing the medical missionary work that God has taken me to the edge, as if He was allowing me to be tested on whether I would hold onto Him by faith when things looked hopeless, for the devil hates this work and will do anything to try and stop it. But, through the trials of my life, I have learned to hold on to Jesus even when the ride gets wild, and never let go of Him no matter where it takes you. Be assured, the Holy Sprit will give you the grace to help you in your time of need and you need not fall. God has promised that we "can do all things thorugh Christ which strengthens us." Phil. 4:13. Please believe it! |
Demon Possession
A Real Phenomena - Part 3

"Every case of demon possession described in The Desire of Ages is specifically said to have involved some form of mental derangement popularly described as insanity, and this condition is pointed to as the result of demon possession. For instance, the demon-possessed man in the synagogue at Capernaum is described as a 'maniac,' and his affliction as 'insanity' and 'madness' (DA 256). The demoniacs of Gadara are similarly spoken of as 'madmen' and 'maniacs,' and said to have distracted minds' (DA 341).
Symptoms of nervous disorder specifically mentioned are distortion of the countenance, shrieking, mutilation of the body, glaring with the eyes, gnashing with the teeth, foaming at the mouth, and convulsions closely resembling those of epilepsy (see Mark 1:26; 9:18-26; Luke 4:35; 8:29; DA 256, 337, 429). In each case the expulsion of the evil spirit was accompanied by an instantaneous and evident change - there was a restoration of mental equilibrium and physical health where these had been impaired. Intelligence returned (DA 256, 338), the afflicted ones were clothed again and in their right minds (Mark 5:15; Luke 8:35; DA 338), and their reason was restored (DA 429, 568).
The case of the demon-possessed boy of Mark 9:14-29 deserves special attention. The description of the case strikingly resembles that of an epileptic seizure (see vs. 18-20). But to assert that this was simply a case of epilepsy, is to reject the plain statements of Scripture that the boy was demon possessed. The gospel writers are equally explicit in describing a case of what certainly appears to be epilepsy and in attributing it to demon possession." 5 BC, p. 576.
I have seen one young man vibrating uncontrollably, sweating profusely, and heaving. I had another woman who, when we wrapped her in blankets after a coldsheet treatment, glare at me with strange eyes and say in a deep voice that was not her own, "Let me out of here!" I have witnessed convulsions in another man and distortions in the countenance in a woman that was so bizarre that I thought I was hallucinating.
Should we be surprised that there is so much demon possession today? How many people do you know that are suffering with cancer, diabetes, heart disease, or arthritis? My point is this: Is not disease rampant in this country? Then why shouldn't we expect demon possession to also be everywhere when the Bible tells us plainly that the apostles were healing the sick and casting out devils! (See Mark 3:15, 6:13; Luke 9:1).
