Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival is Weeks Away!
Saturday, June 30 - Monday, July 4
The Center for Wooden Boats 36th annual Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival kicks off on June 30th for five days of down-home waterfront fun. A Fourth of July tradition in the Emerald City, the Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival will feature some 200 wooden boats from rowing dinghies to the 133-foot schooner Adventuress. This free public festival opens daily at 10am from Saturday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 4 at Lake Union Park in Seattle. Activities will include the always popular toy boat building, kite making, knot tying, skills demonstrations, a maritime music stage, a beer garden, food and craft vendors, pond boat sailing and much more. As always, many visiting vessels will be open for boarding and CWB will offer free boat rides on a variety of historic boats. FESTIVAL ARTWORK REVEALED! The 2012 Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival poster artwork was created by Anita Lehman, a Seattle artist and Architectural Illustrator. Learn more about Anita at www.ahldraws.com.
