Greetings!
We'll be having two tastings this weekend. This first is our Friday night wine tasting from 5 -7 pm. In addition, Rob Robillard owner and creator of Cabin Fever Maple Liqueur will join us to taste his product, Saturday from 2 -5 pm. Rob will be tasting his great locally made product straight and in a concoction he calls Hot Buttered Maple Whisky. He'll also have a fudge made with his liqueur for to nibble on, hmmm maple liqueur and fudge together, that sounds dangerously good. Go to www.cabinfeverspirits.com for information about the products.
Friday Night Wine Tasting Line-Up
Trimbach Riesling Alsace
Normally $22.99 On Sale for $17.99
91 pts Wine Spectator Top 100 - This subtle Riesling offers a finely woven mix of white peach and crushed pine needle flavors, with hints of brine and smoke. There's racy acidity, but it's well-meshed, and a mineral note lingers on the delicate finish.
Groth Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc $18.99 Another great Sauvignon Blanc from this prestigious Oakville Winery. It is barrel fermented then aged on the lies for five months, giving it much more richness and character than your average Sauv Blanc.
Tohu New Zealand Pinot Noir $24.99
91pts Wine Spectator Top 100 - Medium-weight, generous and appealing for the coffee nuances that swirl through the plum and currant fruit, remaining vivid and expressive through the long finish.
Falset Etim Monsanto $15.99
91 pts Robert Parker - The 2006 Etim Selection is a blend of 60% Garnacha, 30% Carinena, and 10% Syrah aged for 6 months in seasoned French and American oak. Opaque purple-colored, it exhibits a brooding bouquet of minerals, black cherry, and blueberry. Layered on the palate with hints of dried herbs and an amalgam of blue and black fruits, the wine has excellent grip and depth followed by a lengthy finish. If you want to experience Priorat without paying the price, this is the way to go.
Robert Craig "Affinity" Napa Valley Cabernet
Normally $52.99 On Sale for $37.99!
While he has yet to taste this vintage Robert Parker gave the previous vintage of this wine 90 pts. I don't need a rating to tell you this wine is awesome. At under $40 it may be the best deal in the store! Great bottle to gift as a gift!
